Description Hooooly HEKK this was an undertaking! XD

Granted, not as long as I thought it'd be, considering that most of the locations were provided for in 's profile about the Gnolls, but it's definitely a lot! And as usual, it's getting close to my bedtime, so I'll leave here what I've gathered so far in terms of info.

Not to mention, was kinda thinking of modeling the map after the ones in World of Warcraft, but I kinda went my own direction after a certain point.

EDIT: Finished the description!!

---------------------------------

Olu-Ilu (CAPITAL) - The center of war and trade in the Savannah Kingdom, it is overseen by its ruler, Warlord Kisikuda Tbana, who has ruled for 27 years. It is here that she works hard to reform the violent tendencies of her people, the Gnolls, as well as the place where slavery was first abolished in the Kingdom. It's also famous for the truly impressive Opa-Ere tournaments it annually hosts.

Lakaaye Jungle - This is the forested area that the Ash Hide tribe calls home. They have a collective fascination for fire that borders on worship, so it is here that they live for a regular supply of wood for trade. Their settlement is distinguished by the burning fire towers that rise above the treetops, and the many lanterns all around the jungle.

Ash Hide Wastes - The previous settlement of the Ash Hide tribe. While the jungle in the area burning down could be well explained, that enormous lake of magma at the center is something of an anomaly. The Gnolls of the Savannah Kingdom believe this place to be cursed, and aren't keen on letting the Ash Hides live this down.

Lake Omi - The place where the Cracked Teeth tribe have made their settlement. Being such a large lake, it's a watering hole to a number of endemic species, many of which are quite dangerous. Particularly threatening is the enormous, eel-like Inkanyamba. However, the Cracked Teeth have gained notoriety from being able to fight them off, and STILL be able to use the river to raid other tribes.

Wura Goda Mountain - This mountain was always the landmark of the Cracked Teeth Tribe's residence. However, it was also discovered by Imperial Elvish conquerors to have a surplus of gold. Thus, inviting them to make an enormous number of Gnollish slaves mine it for them. Now, the mine is closed down, with a memorial of those who died serving the Elves' greed.

Ikooko River - The most major body of water in the Savannah Kingdom, snaking its way around the center of the Kingdom. Whoever controls this area controls the surplus of trade, hunting, traveling, and fishing. As it so happens, this is exactly how the Twisted Mane tribe came to control it, making their settlement here, and setting up the Gnollish capital city, Olu-Ilu, directly over it.

Grootslang Graveyard - The resting place of a titanic sea serpent that had invaded years ago, who was fortunately slain long ago by one of the Savannah Kingdom's oldest and greatest warlords ever. However, its remains still exist here. As do the bones of the many Gnolls and animals it has slain. Nothing lives here now. Nothing that we know of at least.

The Horror Hole - This is the place where the dead Sea Serpent's children, the Grootslang, inhabit. Nobody must go here...

Kijani Oasis - The place where the Bitter Tongue tribe had come to make their settlement. This used to be merely a stretch of grassland, almost totally devoid of life. However, the Bitter Tongues have embraced magic, and have been able to create a surplus of water here. So much so that a forest of Baobab Trees grow here, with plenty to spare. Maybe the Bitter Tongues are showing off?

The Saline Needles - The place where the Salt Fangs have chosen to make their settlement. Since the Salt Fangs were frequent victims of raids from other tribes, their paranoia had driven them to take shelter in this area, which is blocked off in many areas by the towering salt pillars that have risen from the flats. As far as they know, they're safe within the needles.

Salt Fang Mine - The Salt Fang tribe is most infamous for its enormous population of slaves, before slavery was abolished in the Kingdom. This mine used to be their main area of work, digging up truly massive quantities of salt until a spiral hole was made in the ground. This area is still mined to this day, albeit with freed workers instead of slaves.

Interesting geography! But the one thought on my mind the entire time reading the description is: "What if Marina could control that Grootslang Skeleton?" (Possible way to combat an invading Winged Serpent is the answer. But whether or not that happens if not up to me.)

Oh ho, my friend. She would get her hands on that skeleton over the dead bodies of every gnoll in that Kingdom.

She wouldn't take it away from the kingdom and could even make it lie in the same position before releasing control over it. But if they don't want her controlling it, she won't.

Yeah, the grootslang was a terror on the kingdom without equal, ravaging each of the tribes to near extinction. The first time the tribes set aside their differences and worked together was to kill the grootslang. So, all of the tribes now really don't want necromancers screwing around with the thing's corpse.

Understandable. She might not even be able to handle something that big anyway. But I guess that makes it sort of a national treasure or something, huh?

More like a national tragedy XD

Well, it was one of the only times they came together as one to defend their kingdom, so the remains that prove that victory would be considered precious to the people. A culturally-significant part of the geography of the land. Just because it isn't embedded in jewels, that doesn't mean it can't be considered a treasure.

Think about the Twin Towers, they were precious to the people of New York for their cultural significance. But when they were attacked and destroyed, it became a nation-wide point of patriotism to "never forget 9/11".  They were national treasures AFTER they were destroyed. And now where they stood is extremely significant to the whole country. Sound familiar? But only you can decide how the gnolls think of the skeleton.

Well here's the trick, the grootslang didn't just lead one attack, it led dozens, maybe even hundreds on the surrounding tribes. And even after the tribes unified to kill it, they discovered that the beast had offspring who managed to escape into the wild. Baby grootslang are still being found and killed in the kingdom today!

Granted, with the introduction of glyph guns killing the little brutes is a lot easier, but still. Grootslang almost drove the gnolls to extinction, and its offspring are still plaguing the kingdom to this day. Raising the beast would be less like the twin towers and more like holding a Nazi-Appreciation parade. The gnolls want that thing dead and forgotten.

I was more just talking about what makes something culturally-significant and what could be considered a national treasure. You don't need to convince me she shouldn't resurrect it. From the beginning, I only wanted to express that I wasn't sure if Marina's power could even do that. So really, it was never actually about the gnolls at all in the beginning. That was probably a confusing way to explain it I guess.

But tbh, I did forget about its offspring still being there and that it attacked more than once. Sorry for any misunderstandings my poor explanations might have caused. I have been told that I tend to change topics too quickly.

No, its fine, what happened with the grootslang and how the gnolls felt about it wasn't made clear. I can understand where you were coming from.

I think the Heretic Kingdom would be a mix between Egyptian and 300 style Persian aesthetic
