Description
Phew...I think that's all of them. Or at least, as many as I could fit onto four sheets of paper. XDThese characters all belong to , and note that if the stories seem reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long this time, it's actually because we spent quite some time noting each other back-and-forth, before I came up with the designs. And the notes for these got pretty darn long, so this is my attempt to transcribe and abridge them. Just a bit.
Truth be told, all of these are FantasTech redesigns off of Pokemon. Guess which ones are which!
Anyway...time for bed. And I am TIRED. @_@
---------------------------
Weirda (Human, Water Mage)
- She is a young woman who has a rather apt knack for the magical arts, particularly taking after the Water Element, with an edge of Ice included as well. And her life is practically defined by a seemingly tireless pursuit of knowledge, driven by curiosity, and some degree of naivete. Which can...sometimes be dangerous for her. (Considering she once got tricked into wanting to study Sea Serpents, almost ending up as a Feathered Serpent sacrifice. That was no good for her self-esteem to say the least)
Yet...for all of its ups and downs, this was a path that her parents had disapproved of entirely. Partly due to them seeing her altruistic views on magic as childish and naive. Partly due to her not being able to live up to their high standards, to be allowed to practice it. and partly because they saw her continuous draining of Ziz's life essence as utterly selfish. Whatever genuine concerns they had were quickly overshadowed by their INCREDIBLY misguided attempts to deter her. That which did far more harm than good in her development, including giving her a compulsion for perfectionism in things she does. Or causing severe self-esteem issues.
But worst of all was when she went to Empyrean Academy with her brother. It was bad enough that she couldn't keep up, due to being grade-skipped by her mom and dad into entering. But her brother had found out a rather dark secret one of the students was keeping...cue to said student summoning a Chrysalisk, and killing her brother via turning him into stone.
So what do her parents do? When she decided to keep a fragment of his shattered stone body...why, place a Hex on that piece, so it drains her magic and messes with any notes and guidance she receives! So she wouldn't go snooping around for answers, and consider going home, where it's safe.
Big mistake. One they'd regret ever since.
She'd already made up her mind. She didn't know about the Hex. But she fully comprehended how unhelpful her parents were, so decided to seek the answers herself. Even got herself a Sky Skidder, and a Compass to help guide her way! Which...the Hex messed with, causing her to fly directly into a storm.
One that threw her off course, and caused her to land in the Saurian Kingdom. On the way down she lost the hexed Stone Piece.
For now...
Upon landing...she had lost all hope of being able to know what happened to her brother. But then she looked around at this new land. And had begun to realize that she was in a place in need of help. Before she looks back into the past, she must find out how she can help the people of the Saurian Kingdom, in the now. Thus...ready or not, it is time to stretch out her hand once more. And work some magic.
And meet some new faces along the way. Such as...
----------------------
Marshall (Spinosaurus)
- He is among the first of the Saurials whom Weirda had met in the Saurian Kingdom! And among one of the very last benevolent members of his kind. The Spinosaurids had once been among the greatest of the Saurian Kingdom's past empires, building mighty temples throughout the woods and mountains. However...they had been corrupted. By a Sea Serpent named "Apep" that had managed to corrupt the last remaining Pharoah-King of the Spinosaur Dynasties. Thus turning them into little more than yet another variety of evil sea monster. Marshall had managed to pull through, by heading to the Feudal Kingdom to purify his mind, and strengthen his spirit. His stay there had left its mark on him. Everywhere from his attire, to the inexhaustible honor he upholds.
---------------------------
Tank (Polacanthus)
- Tank is NOT an Ankylosaurid. But rather a member of the Nodosaurids. A sub-race marked by their increased ability to learn magic, as well as their history in attempting to balance magic with a developing society. Yet...these days, the Ankylosaurids utterly overshadow them, many mocking their former teachers as "worse versions of themselves". Reducing them to underpaid military medics, pressured by magic-phobic Saurials into suppressing their magic.
Which is why Tank is considered a deviation, inheriting great skill in Fire Magic. Yet having run into so many problems, it's caused him an apathetic, rebellious, and hot-headed attitude towards others. Albeit for all the places that rejected his wild behavior and callous antics... Weirda found him, when he was wounded after jumping on an exploding Volatile Mote, taking him in, fixing him back to full health, and accepting him as he was. A girl who accepts HIS attitude must be too pure to live long on her own...so he has taken it upon himself to protect her, and look after her. Albeit hoping she can help HIM strengthen and control his Fire Magic. So maybe there might be something he can finally look forward to.
----------------------------
"Furry" (Oryctodromeus) -
Among the Saurial, his species has the unfortunate reputation of being much like old-era Goblins. That is...tiny, thieving, greedy, and conniving beings who steal magical items, run the black market, or impose a monopoly on MAGMA of all things, after having found a way to utilize it as a magical and mechanical power source. Not to mention, their supposed cowardice, making homes in underground shelters.
However, one might be quick to point out, Furry is NOTHING like this. It is true that he has found a lot of things. But all of this through expeditions, excavations, and self-funded ventures, who finds things to share them and their knowledge with others. Open, altruistic, social, supportive...and in Weirda, he has found a fellow to share in an adventure. After all, there's no telling where they'll head next.
---------------------------------
Armend (Inhabited Anchor)
- WIP
----------------------------------
Zuzy (Oviraptor)
- Among the Saurial, the Oviraptorids are one that have suffered from quite a poor reputation in days past. Particularly regarding various habits and traditions they carried out that accidentally ended up looking like criminal activities. I.e. picking up youngsters to look after them. So, it's no surprise that they are vehemently trying to uphold strict standards as warrior-servants to royal families, to raise their reputation back up.
This push for a better rep had pretty much cost Zuzy a happy childhood. The entire community coming off as a bunch of control freaks to her, surveying practically every part of her life to fit their standards, Zuzy left her family behind at a very young. And had stowed away on a ship going out, to try her luck in the Wire Kingdom. Disappointment abounded when she found herself little more than a petty thief. Things had ALMOST took a turn for the better, upon meeting a young Lycan boy who thieved, yet helped the poor and downtrodden, and became her best friend. Except...his teenager phase rolled in. His pack phase. And unfortunately, the pack he entered was, quite simply, a criminal gang. One which wanted HER in their ranks. But had quickly deemed her Lycan friend a failure, and had him killed in private.
They told her that her friend left, and never wanted to see her again. They wanted her to stay, to help them steal and cheat. Yet she was smart enough to find out the truth for herself. And...had promptly given up on life in the Wire Kingdom, going back home to the Saurian Kingdom, to work at a pub. Yet against all the odds...things finally got better.
When she met Weirda, after a failed attempt to steal someone's keys. And when meeting Demonica, whose emaciated figure was a call to action for her. And it's here...that Zuzy finally was allowed to do some growing up. All under a person who understood her hard feelings towards family better than anyone.
-----------------------------------------
Demonica (Archoen) (Lycaenops)
- Demonica is NOT a Saurial. She belongs to a race much older than that, known as the Archoen. A race composed of anthropomorphic, prehistoric reptiles and sometimes amphibians, all of which have been known to live before the dinosaurs. And as such, have much greater innate magical powers, but are far worse at changing, and adapting to the modern world. Which is why, after some dispute, many had been exiled from the Saurian Kingdom, to live on a series of islands some distance away. So they may develop in peace.
The Gorgonopsids, including the Lycaenops clan, are known for being some of the Archoen's greatest warriors, hunters, and assassins. Inheriting a skill known as "Blackfire" which is a sort of dark, magical flame that burn not only the body, but also the mind, striking terror, and lasting signs of madness and trauma into those it burns. As well as being able to ignite things that shouldn't burn by any circumstance.
Demonica...by Gorgonopsid standards, she was a demonstrable failure of a Blackfire mage. She had grown up sensitive, weak, feeble in hunts, and appearing thoroughly terrified of her own ability. Not to mention, lack of experience in regular Fire Magic. So...being at the bottom of the totem pole, she grew up malnourished and full of anxiety. So much so that after being starved enough, she all but gave up on life and wanted to just die already...yet she had been found. By Weirda. And more significantly, Zuzy. They who have desperately been trying to convince her to not only eat again. But to keep on living. For their sake. Not for her clan.
She still has such a long way to go. Yet she knows, things are better now. And in every new day of discovering herself without her clan's prejudices, it won't stop getting better here.

Objecting with a spirit of some sort inhabiting them? Ghost possession? Or perhaps something different...... (Spectrals) Hmmm? Fits the purpose, right?
But in all fairness, those probably couldn't be vessels.

Ah! I had thought of making this a plain ol' ghost possession. But I thought of something even more disquieting.
See, what I think is happening with those two? They ARE Spectrals as a matter of fact! But their situation is a bit of a sad anomaly.
Spectrals, for the most part, get to choose what they inhabit. And they gain intelligence AFTERWARDS to best suit their new vessel. Except when they run afoul of an object cursed with minute traces of a person's life force. Usually occurring from a particularly violent demise, or a curse laid on them.
When they encounter an object like this, the Spectral in question gets pulled into it, like a magnet! They bring it life, and upon being bound to the object, they gain the memories of the dead person in question. That is, they remember being a living person they never were to begin with.
By all accounts, a painful and confusing existence, as they know, they're not..."real". They didn't choose to have this happen. And yet they just have to learn to live with it.
Fiona especially has a difficult time, since she sees modern conveniences and society as forbidden knowledge, according to her clan.
On the other hand? Armend was surprisingly able to get over the initial shock, and make the most of his situation. Getting inventive with his seemingly unwieldy new form.
Just a way I figured would make things interesting! Lemme know what you think!

I like it! Though, let me just correct you on something. Spectrals DO have intelligence. It's knowledge that they lack and thus crave. But this cross-spirit anomaly could be called a "Spiritual Hijacking". Instead of the Spectral being pulled in, how about they are drawn to it. "Attracted" if you will. Much like a magnet. So your analogy stands. The lingering memories bound to the object cause a natural curiosity in the Spectral to gain this "knowledge" that is tied to a very pliable spirit already. But upon regaining the lost portions of an existence, the spirit assimilates the Spectral and it becomes more like the spirit is using the Spectral as a tool to control the vessel.
In this sense, a "spirit" is more like a faint remnant of a soul that has become attached to an object. It isn't possessed, it is allowing the memories and emotions it is made of linger on within it forever. Memories of victory and defeat of a noble and proud warrior. Given form and a means of becoming sentient through hijacking a partial existence in search of something to fill a hollow mind. Basically, the Spectral upgrades it from a spirit to a soul. A full existence within the spiritual plane that exists within a body in the physical plane. Just as every person has a soul, these sentient objects have become people. Not the same person that left their emotions and memories attached, but people that share those things with that existing soul. Were they to meet the one they belonged to, it is possible that they could share a spiritual connection that "updates" both sides to have all the experienced moments of the other.
If such a pair were able to keep in contact regularly, it could almost be like they are in two places at once....
So if you choose for all this to be the deal, then it isn't a sad existence for anyone involved. I'll let you decide what to accept and what to reject here.

I know I want more to shover you with big thanks and love I feel when looking and this, but I want to go in-deph,
so I'll wait untill you'll manage to tranform Fi and Armend here, as well as show who's Titan and Baylene, the two big figures outta there~!
In this comment however, I wanna adress the isshue that I BET comes from the fact you was tired:
Armend's and Fiona's re-interpretation for FantasTech.
See. all others show such brilliant and suprising level of detail or just FEEL like belong to your FantasTech
rather than Pokemon, but the two weapons actualy look like lame copypaste from Pokemon.
Which is why I'm willing to sketch quickly my concepts for those and I hope this will help you.
If that's fine by you Tipsy?
I'm not saying the whole thing is bad, it's the opposite, which is why I feel strongly that the mentioned two need to just fit there.

Of course! If you have any particular thing here you'd like to redesign, feel free to do so. I'd be glad to incorporate them in a new drawing afterwards.
After all, I paid the most attention to the Saurials, so I had no clue how to design them uniquely, or have them fit them onto the paper. XD
PLUS...on the comments below, I actually came up with something with Poke-Poet to make their situation particularly strange and unique. If not highly unsettling. Not sure yet how well it works, but figure some existential confusion might spice things up a bit! That is, if you don't mind!

OH MY GOODNESS, YESSSS
This will fit perfectly to what they are in my stories
and why Weirda fighting with her anxiety, fears (especially fear of the unknown)
is such important part of her character~!
I mean, nowadays my watchers assume that Fi and Armend are exceptions
to Weirda's "rule" 'I fear ghost types'. That their relationship with Wei is given.
Actually, in the beginning, she often tried to keep as away as possible from them,
observing them from safe distance and asking her Pokemon how these two are,
just to be sure they are safe....
And once she heard about Armend? She just went pale and fainted in cartoonish way onto the ground,
imagining an intimidating giant possesed anchor!
just to find out...he's super chill spirit with pretty algae that controls an anchor not much bigger than herself.
Which is why...she even decided to start using him as a water segway!
