'Twas a bit of a practice run to see if I can still pull off a decent lineart. I kinda had to stop before finishing, because it's getting late, and I've got a headache. @_@

But essentially, he's 's character, and he's a revamp of this guy!

P.S. yes...he is based off of Wilbur Whateley from H.P. Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror". Lemire himself is a pretty decent dude tho.

P.S.S. Those are NOT naughty bits at the front. They're more feeder tentacles than anything else, since they have suckers. Albeit here, Wilbur basically uses them for the equivalent of planting affectionate kisses on a small dog....he still locks the door tho, since the idea of dropping your pants to pet your dog...that'd be SUPER awkward to do in public, never mind having to explain himself. Better barricade the door instead!

EDIT: FINISHED THE COLOR IN! And the description! I watched a playthrough of "Alice: Madness Returns" so I feel particularly inspired today!!

"The Hamlet Kingdom used to be a positively dreadful place. All the worst parts of a society spurred by an industrial revolution crammed into a single, hostile, "hard-working" Kingdom that tried so desperately (and futilely) to keep up with the most advanced areas on Cauldron. That little backwater village island could NEVER be among the likes of the Bright Kingdom, the Tunnel Kingdom, or the Clockwork Kingdom. But they tried.

And look what it got them.

Child labor and prostitution--youngsters wearing tags awaiting trauma on the streets.
Pollution--clouds of it choking their island to death, turning the sky an oily brown and black.
The most horrific and vile excuses for "medicine" ever seen. Leeches, electricity, and holes in the head.
And madness.

Madness, madness, oh so much madness. So much so that some...PORTAL had manifested among that place. It's not known who or what resulted in this portal's creation--only that once it opened, Aberrations of all shapes, sizes and dispositions started pouring in, and with no sign of stopping."

Except...it's not.

After all, the Aberrations here aren't all good or all bad. They don't HAVE to be maddening if you keep an open-enough mind! Most aren't "good" or "evil"--merely like animals, neutral and existing as they are. Sometimes dangerous to us, sometimes not. Maybe they ARE unfamiliar and invasive to their new territory, but hey, so are Sylvan Rat-Monkeys! And this Khr'gii I have right here? More tame and affectionate than any dog or cat I've EVER met in my life! Especially dogs, because dogs frickin' HATE me!

The point is...I believe the Hamlet Kingdom is better off now than it was before. People were already going crazy before these "Aberrations" came along--they just helped push out the stuff that was REALLY harmful and evil! So please..."different" doesn't always mean "evil". They don't have to die for the Hamlet Kingdom to be beautiful again."
