Description EDIT: Changed the Hamadryas' Appearance, since it was pretty damn bland compared to the others. I think it's better now! Hopefully! Whaddo you guys think?

OKIEDOKE, so this was a thing I had in my folders that I just recently fetched! Tagged some inspiration from and !Β

This time being Gardevoir Variations! My headcanon here is that Pokemon in the Amorphous Egg Group tend to bear a STRONG resemblance to both of their parents, on account of their bodies being amorphous before birth. In this case, a Gardevoir would still be recognizable as one, but because of their widely variable genetics, look a lot like their non-Gardevoir parent. Meaning that these aren't the only variations out there!

-----------

Faerie Variation (Standard) - The purebreed variation of Gardevoir. They can predict the future, have immense psychic power, and will use all of their power and loyalty to protect their trainers at all costs, making them a highly popular Pokemon among trainers.

Poltergeist Variation (Gengar) - A mischievous and sassy Gardevoir variation, which has a penchant for Ghost-Type moves, and abusing their powers to prank others. However, they are good at predicting which jokes are all in good fun, and which ones go too far.

Witch Variation (Mismagius) - A greatly intelligent and educated Gardevoir variation, they are able to learn many moves Gardevoir otherwise can't learn! To master these moves, they write them down in spellbooks, and cast these "spells" using incantations.

Reaper Variation (Dusknoir) - A hard-working and dutiful Gardevoir variation, which are much physically stronger than other Gardevoir. They are more focused towards protecting the greater good, and will seek to do it alone whenever possible to protect the innocent.

Aristocrat Variation (Jellicent) - A highly refined, and somewhat snooty Gardevoir variation. They are less able to empathize with others, so they have been known to be somewhat self-absorbed. However, they seldom mean any real malice in their words or actions.

Harvester Variation (Gourgeist) - An industrious and somewhat submissive Gardevoir variation. They are often found in poor neighborhoods, working as peasants, and using their song to soothe other fellow workers who become exhausted out in the fields.

Vampire Variation (Chandelure) - A secretive and seductive Gardevoir variation, who lure human and Pokemon into their grasp with song and dance. They feed off of brain waves by eating other people's dreams. But they leave gifts to their "victims" for when they wake up.

Mummy Variation (Cofagrigus) - A regal and somewhat mean-spirited Gardevoir variation. Their behavior depends on what their Cofagrigus parent was like, but most Mummy Gardevoir tend to hold themselves above others, and be easily offended.

Dollface Variation (Banette) - A clingy and rather vindictive Gardevoir variation. They can be prone to bad behavior, but despite their questionable antics, they are desperately afraid of being alone, and grow lonely and depressed without their partner.

Hamadryad Variation (Trevenant) - A stoic, but wild Gardevoir variation. They are very physically strong and are most comfortable outdoors. They live in forests, and easily befriend the creatures of the wild, empathizing with them while shunning urban areas.

Funny story is that I actually edited the look for the Trevenant because it didn't look unique enough without the wooden armor. I think it really gives it a nice touch! Still, thank you once again. ^^

Wonderful designs, and even better descriptions! To properly tell you which my favorite is, I'll have to break it down a bit.

Design- My favorite based solely on looks is a tie between the Reaper and the Vampire.

Description- My favorite based solely on description is a tie between the Dollface and the Harvester.

Desirability- My favorite based solely on how much I'd like to be a trainer for it(considering looks, personality, and behavior/quirks) is a three-way tie between the Dollface, the Witch, and the Vampire.

Overall- After considering all of the previous categories and analysing priority of each as well as other factors not included in the pre vious categories' evaluatons, I think my Overall Favorite would likely be the.......Dollface.

I'd love to go more in-depth about every single one and myu thoughts on each, but this comment is already getting too long. I'll gladly tell you more in a Note if you'd actually like to hear all of my thoughts on each one. Or perhaps simply a reply detailing all of my thoughts on just the one I chose as my overall favorite. This was a very difficult decision since they are all so great! (Hence the need for a detailed analysis.)

..I think I like your variations more than the chandalure, gengar, and mismagius one.

Nice designs! But..what about Trevenant?? Where's the brown and creepiness??

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to niksmom1 [2016-07-08 17:50:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks dude!

I think for Trevenant, I didn't really put any brown in there because I was going for light skin tone for most of these variations (except for the Mummy variation). Admittedly, I probably could have made it a lot creepier, although I thought it'd have more of a Wood Elf kind of vibe making it look more wild than creepy.Β

Usually, they're honestly too drastic in the change, seeming to go somewhat too fair, but yours is simple enough.

Oh, well than. Not even a little bit more of a brownish color? Or even lines of bark on it? It doesn't look much like a Trevenant, besides having bushes on them.

I kinda am aware that a lot of these variations can tend to look more like cross-breeds, although a goal of mine when making these is to make them still recognizable as their species! I.e. a Gardevoir can have lots of Chandelure-like traits, but it will still be recognizable as a Gardevoir!

I think I actually may do that! Maybe it'd be partially covered in twiggy wooden armor, or have several scars! As well as darker skin! I think I can do that!

Thank ya so much dude!!

I'm working on the Aurorus one right now. ^^ Just getting together the possible crossbreeds I can make with it. So far I've come up with...

Amargasaurus (Purebreed)

Saltasaurus (Rhyperior) - It has scutes and rocky armor, as well as a tail club!
Plateosaurus (Ampharos) - It has a more two-legged structure, and is smaller than other variations.
Diplodocus (Tyranitar) - It has many spines on its back, is very large, and very bulky.
Camarasaurus (Meganium) A small and stocky breed which could live comfortably in warmer environments.

And that's about it for now, but still thinking of more!

Ooo I ike these so much, especially with Plateosaurus for two-legged one ^^b
Could you add also Ampelosaurus based one as cross breed with...Druddigon most likely?

hyrotrioskjan.deviantart.com/a…

Also, for the trivia Aurorus can learn Discharge move...and Heliolisk has a frill, maybe a cross breed between those two too?
Oh, plus maybe make use of this sauropod species?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigersau… ;

Look at this funny mouth! Maybe cross breed with Bastiodon? *u*

Wow, thank ya so much dude! In that case...we have three new additions to the list!

Ampelosaurus (Druddigon) - It has very rough and knobby skin, and is quite used to warm weather.
Europasaurus (Heliolisk) - It is one of the smallest variations, but protects itself with electric attacks, and has a frill.Β
Nigersaurus (Bastiodon) - It has broad and wide facial features, several rows of teeth, as well as a very thick hide.Β

You're very welcome Tipsy~!
I'm glad you accept them and already have nice descriptions. I hope you have copied it somewhere....or will write an even better version~

Ohh and Europasaurus is great choice! It would be nice it you could mention at the end that it was really small sauropod, unlike what most of ppl know these from!
I'm always glad people enjoy when I write lots of paleontology trivia, so I guess someone gonna appreciate that mention under your artwork too.

Have great time drawing them, can't wait to see results

Thank ya so much dude!!

I'm just trying to think of two more, but I think Europasaurus works well as a Dwarf Aurorus of some kind. XD

Anyway, feel free to leave suggestions for at least two more if you got em! I've got seven out of nine ideas, so thanks for your help. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Weirda-s-M-art In reply to TipsyRa1d3n [2016-07-08 15:27:03 +0000 UTC]

For me it IS a dwarf Aurorus. Look, in Pokedex its size fits this sauropod WHICH LIVED IN EUROPE, so if you count Kalos as wquivalent of Europe....and you look at Europasaurus skull....all fits perfectly in my opinion Aurorus and that's also why I love your OC Europa! I can spam everytime I'll draw her trivia about Europasaurus x'3

Well, I looked at both Wikipedia and my saved reconstructions of various sauropomorhps and can't find any more that would fit with any Pokemon in monster egg group for cross breeding
I would love to suggest one of the biggest sauropods ever, Dreadnought/Argentinosaurus, or Spinophorosaurus/Shunosaurus with their spiky tail cubs, but I haven't found anything that would fit as father to make those. At last in my eyes.

Prosauropoda (like Plateosaurus) weren't full of variety, unfortunately :Y

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to Weirda-s-M-art [2016-07-08 15:44:14 +0000 UTC]

Ah!! I think I've got it!

Shunosaurus (Charizard) - It has a tail club which hosted a "cold fire" of sorts, and can use its own unique version of Fire-Type techniques. It's "flames" look like auroras.
Argentinasaurus - One of the biggest Aurorus breeds ever, who trek for hundreds of miles to find food, and are covered in more ice than usual.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Weirda-s-M-art In reply to TipsyRa1d3n [2016-07-08 15:56:49 +0000 UTC]

HMMMM! Now that's creative!
sadly Aurorus can't learn any attacks that could remind of 'cold fire', but personally I would go with description it possess unique ability to make ice attacks not only from its mouth, but also tail, making it a difficult opponent, because it can suprise the enemy counter attacking from behind! And its ancientpower could be spectacular one, because those foating stones remind of small icy meteors. Do you think this idea sounds good?

Ohhh, wonderful about Argentinosaurus! Please don;t forget about more massive neck, because I've seen a lot of titanosauria(the family of sauropods where Argentinosaurus is included) reconstructed with much more massive neck. I haven't found yet why, maybe there's an article I haven't got myself to read(becuase ALL in english ) and I think you could also mention its auroruas could cover the sky of whole northen pole if not continent in past! Just to make things around it huge :'D

Now that I posted the Aurorus pic, I've actually got another project! An Archeops Variations one, based off of ancient birds and dromaeosaurs.

Archaeopteryx (Purebreed)
Yi Qi (Crobat)
Microraptor (Murkrow)

And well...that's all I've got so far! I'm trying to think of possible species to implement, as well as which Pokemon parents that would be good for! If you've got any ideas, I'm all open to 'em! Thanks for all your help so far. ^^

Weirda-s-M-art In reply to TipsyRa1d3n [2016-07-09 08:00:40 +0000 UTC]

okay, I had to check my all Saurischia folders to see what we can throw here for dinosaur and paleontology lovers~

I would personally state Jeholornis as purebreed. Archaeopteryx is 100% confirmed to have tailfeathers on the whole tail, while look at Jeholornis tail-it just fits Archeops perfectly IMHO!

paleoaeolos.deviantart.com/art…

www.captainoccam.com/ferahgo/j…

here you can see it got "raptor" look overall, including the head.

Crobat for Yi Qi fits perfectly!

There's Epidexipteryx, which for Archeops could HAVE feathered "wings"

f.tqn.com/y/dinosaurs/1/S/G/_/…

Tail feahers and representative look from sigilyph; the difference between their heads could make kind pof "an abomination" with this Archeops having short mouth and teeth outstanding from it like it needs braces and its arm feathers are crap for flight, but it can levitate for while one jumps in the air! Also, funny trivia to put there, Archeops is a physical attacker, but got great sp. attack stat

Anchiornis, the great discovery from which we know ITS COLORS:

www.sciencecodex.com/files/Anc…

for me, obvious breed with Staraptor

changyuraptor is known for long feathers. Maybe put it there, too? Breed with Unfezant to give this Pokemon some spotlight and shine. It could be also a breed with gender difference!

phenomena.nationalgeographic.c…

you could make even slightly longer feathers me thinks

It's if you want it still have feathered legs, if not, then "golden phoenix",Β jinfengopteryx. Also had long tail feathers, but lacked them on legs.

Dakotaraptor: biggest known feathered dromeosaurid from North America....!
...a breed with Braviary?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unenlagi…

maybe for narrow, long muzzle and term "half-bird", a breed with Swanna or Fearow ? The choice could be yours.

Caudipteryx: colorful tail fan and some "hairstyle feathers" from Honchcrow
*been thinking and types Pidgeotto at first, but later I found paleontologists guess it had most likely dark feathers on most of its body, so....I choosed Honchkrow there with red "broom" on its tail

Any Alvarezsaurus member, long muzzle, almost no arms, BUT THEY ARE AND ARE FRIGGIN' STRONG: A breed with Dodrio~! Tipsy, I won't believe if you won;t like this idea based on true mystery around those arms which were smol, but strong! Also, Doduo and Dodrio CAN fly X'D
1st gen and its logic, ehh

sinosauropteryx is another great case: from what I've read about it, we know its colors too! A striped tail and reddish or orange on overall body. Talonflame breed? Smaller, but agile fast one~

confuciusornis has two long tail feathers, I think a Swellow would fit there and give this Archeops more birdy look

Hope that helps, because I create another wall of text oh my -w-'

WHOO!! I think I've got all my Archeops variations in place, in that case! So, here we go, new list!

Jeholornis (Purebreed)

Archaeopteryx (Pidgeot)

Yi Qi (Crobat)

Epidexipteryx (Sigilyph)

Anchiornis (Staraptor)

Changyuraptor (Unfezant)

Dakotaraptor (Braviary)

Unenlagia (Fearow)

Alvarezsaurus (Dodrio)

Jinfengopteryx (Swanna)

Caudipteryx (Honchkrow)

Sinosauropteryx (Talonflame)

Confuciusornis (Swellow)

Thank ya dude!! This was amazingly helpful to figure out how to put it all together. ^^
