#493: Arceus
The Alpha Pokemon
Normal (Legendary)
Height: About 10 ft tall
Length: About 15 ft long
Weight: About 705 lbs
Sound: Now here's something curious. Whenever Arceus manifests out of a wormhole, it opens its mouth, and emits a sound wave that greatly distorts timespace around itself. To us, it sounds like a reverberating cosmic echo of sorts, distorting the air around it to the point where it can be heard clearly from miles away, and playing any frequency we can imagine at once. That is, that's the sound it makes if it's not speaking.
Arceus can speak to us, yes, but in a very strange manner. Its telepathic voice sounds to us like the collective voices of people. Men, women, children, other Pokemon....Arceus can speak to us, and we hear THEIR voices when it does so. Even its voice takes a form we're comfortable with, by appealing to our familiarity with our own kin, when faced with something as spectacularly unknown as this entity.
Gender: It doesn’t have any. And speaking of which, it doesn’t need any. Arceus is literally incapable of aging, or dying. For those who think otherwise, continue reading this report, because you'll see exactly why Arceus has no reason whatsoever to need to reproduce.
HP: 120

Location: The Hall of Origin. At least that's the place where one of Arceus's hands have been found. Although it's probably not the only location of its kind out there.
OH! Whoops...I probably wasn't supposed to reveal that yet. Ah well. If that sentence caught you off-guard, then that's probably a sign you should keep reading.
Can I do this....? Can I REALLY, convincingly write a report on what is effectively the creator of the universe? Because I hate to say it, but people have no idea how this Pokemon works! We know it's real, we've SEEN It. But whether or not we can believe it, or explain it, is another thing. Understandably, people recoil in panic at the thought of having to understand and figure out something so much greater than ourselves. But I come to you with confidence that I can do my very best, to explain the creator of our universe.
( B ) Lore and Known History: First things first, the story behind Arceus's existence goes a little something like this.In the beginning, there was nothing. Only a small, roiling bubble of shapeless “stuff” that existed in the middle of a great, empty, black void. It wasn’t orderly enough to be known as either matter or antimatter.
However, if we’re right, that bubble may have been the cosmic egg that was forming the being that would create the universe: Arceus. The embryo inside grew, and kept growing until eventually the embryo hatched, and scattered all the still barely developed matter and antimatter that was inside the egg all over the place.
When the matter and antimatter finally had annihilated each other, there was only matter left. Out of this matter, Arceus was born, and created the Creation Trio. Dialga would govern the flow of time throughout the Universe. Palkia would ensure the continuous spread and stability of the Universe. Giratina would keep regular physics intact, and be the strong force that held things together, even from the Distortion World. At least opting to give it a semblance of its former job after Giratina made itself an aberration to the laws of physics and known reality.
But as for Arceus? It has no such duty. Because it has no specialty, or limit, or weakness to its power.
Arceus is, without a doubt, a being of unlimited power. I am not even slightly kidding. Arceus is quite literally capable of ANYTHING. Wanna know how, and to what extent? Keep reading on! Go deeper into the rabbit hole to find out!
( C ) Physiology: Very little about Arceus is anything we're capable of classifying with any degree of clarity. So we'll do the best we can here. By first dropping a major bombshell.
Godmind: That tall celestial white being with the golden ring around its body? That's not Arceus. That's one of Arceus's 1000 Hands.
You heard right. The being we THINK we're referring to is Arceus is in fact only a tiny fraction of the real being. Because in reality, Arceus has no solid form that we can discern as a Pokemon. The real Arceus is little more than the roiling, churning cosmic energy existing at the very epicenter of the Big Bang, so expansive, so immeasurably powerful and flowing with nondescript energy that we're lead erroneously to believe that this is Arceus's home dimension, rather than Arceus itself. For the sake of argument, we'll call this singular, all-powerful energy The Godmind. And for a clearer picture on what it is, don't think God/Yahweh/Allah/whatever you prefer to call it, think Azathoth Lite. A swirling Nuclear Chaos somewhere in the universe, omniscient yet barely conscious enough to be sentient, omnipotent, but with its own raw energy body, it has no defined ability to create OR destroy. Omnipresent and all-reaching, yet limited not by an inability to reach, but an inability to touch. After all, it's just energy.
Do you know where I'm going with this? The Godmind is the origin of all things in the universe, but can't change a thing by creation or destruction if it has no clear way to manipulate the universe around it. And that's where it's 1000 Arms come in....
Godhand: THIS is the Arceus we know by default. That big, white, quadruped creature that we shall call The Godhand. Its body is composed of a wide panoply of exotic and extraterrestrial matter and alloys all fused together three different types of substances making up its body. The first is The Ivory Carapace a white ivory/alabaster-like substance, which is strangely malleable and bendable, but has been known to deflect all forms of cosmic radiation, allow for frictionless movement, and has a constantly changing scale of Mohs hardness which usually measuring above 17.5(?!). The second material is The Second Skin, a type of frictionless, black substance vaguely resembling polished rainbow obsidian, which has an even greater tolerance towards nearly all forms of radiation and energy wavelengths, which exists to protect the contents inside its body from spilling out. Specifically, The Primordial Core at center of its body which contains a reservoir of shapeless, formless primordial energy, much like that produced from the Big Bang. Hazardous and formless, the Godhand uses this energy as fuel for its body, and as power it can use offensively or defensively. This energy can be emitted from the four green jewels on its golden ring known as The Four Catalysts. Which are a part of The Golden Halo, which is the golden ring surrounding its entire body. This ring emits a kind of anti-gravitational field which allows it to ignore the effects of gravity regardless of where it is. On its feet are The Golden Hooves, which is made of the same material as the Halo, allowing it to fly by emitting powerful electromagnetic fields to repel against the gravity of any given celestial body, or magnetically pull it towards a destination. Using the Halo and Hooves, it can emit a more minute electromagnetic field which it uses to manipulate the primordial energy to a finer degree, allowing it to learn a massive variety of powerful moves of all types. To empower certain moves and abilities, it utilizes The Life Plates, slabs of a rocky-metallic substance which differ in color and are highly reflective of sunlight, that all have differing compositions at their core, but can all allow the Godhand to empower some of its moves by causing its physical composition to change (i.e. Sky Plate causes its body to become lighter and more aerodynamic, Zap Plate causes its body to have zero electrical resistance and become more conductive, Splash Plate causes its body to become more fluid and able to convert its primordial energy into liquid, etc). This is how it utilizes its Multitype ability. The Godhand also relies on these Life Plates to live, because each missing Plate will limit its ability to change itself according to circumstances, leaving it at the mercy of the elements if it can't change accordingly fast enough.
The pointed tips of the halo, just above The Catalysts, constantly emit radio waves, which are somehow capable of traveling through space at FTL speeds, and presumably connect to the Godmind at all times. This connection being two-way, the Godhand can consistently relay information of all sorts back to the Godmind, while the Godmind can issue remote commands to the Godhand if it so desires. The Godhand gains all of this info through two particularly notable abilities. First is through The Ultravisors, red-and-green eyes which have the ability to see all electromagnetic wavelengths known to man, allowing it to sense everything in its given area, while also being able to "see" things that are otherwise invisible, such as sound or brain activity, among other things. As well as through The Seventh Sensor, which are two vaguely metallic green sensors below its eyes. These organs operate much like sensory organs, but instead of images, sounds, or touches, these organs provide information using a phenomenon known as Knowsense. For a clearer idea of its workings, picture yourself simply wondering about something, ANYTHING at all, be it something you're seeing, or something you're thinking about. A person with Knowsense would be able to use it to interpret this, find out more about it through various means (mostly via scanning other's brains, psychic Internet connection, ultra-deep perception of resources, etc), and feed that info back to the brain, making it look as if the said person was remembering something they already knew. This is how it becomes nigh omniscient, able to perceive and know anything in the universe in nearly an instant, and act on it as well.
(FUN FACT: Alakazam has Knowsense. It has such a massive IQ of 5000 to begin with because Knowsense grants it the ability to preemptively know about anything it wonders about, making it aware of nearly all of the world's workings. In the case of Arceus' Godhands, their IQ's are immeasurable because they've ALL been doing this for billions of years. Ultra-Intelligence doesn't even BEGIN to describe it.)
And lastly...The Lesser Mind. This is what sets apart the Godhand from the Godmind. While it's connected to the Godmind and ultimately does its bidding, the Lesser Mind is actually wholly independent. It has free roam to do or change whatever it wants whenever it wants, so long as things continue to change. From what we can comprehend, at least 1000 Godhands in total exist throughout the universe, dwelling at the very edges of the universe where nothing exists. However, being as independent as they are, Godhands allow themselves to become attached to their creations, as one did for our world, and ensure its continued survival. One of these Godhands indeed created our world, and had also helped it continue to thrive when things became grim for mankind.
If we're right, and there ARE other Godhands throughout the universe that shaped other worlds similar to ourselves, I like to think we're not the only ones with a guardian god watching over us.
( D ) Omnipotent Powers: I don't know if I've made it clear enough, but I'm going to make it even clearer. Arceus is omnipotent. With 1000 Godhands at its disposal, its reign over reality is undisputed.
To begin with, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina all inherited their powers from Arceus. They were created with strange and materials to carry out the creation and maintenance of the known Universe. Therefore, a single Godhand can do just about anything that the three of them can, even if Roar of Time/Spatial Rend/Shadow Force aren't in its movepool. It can travel back or forward in time, using a similar method of time travel using cosmic strings, and is fundamentally aware of alternative and parallel timelines. It can use microsingularities pried open with threads of exotic matter to use as wormholes, allowing them to travel incomprehensibly far distances in the mere blink of an eye. It can use its Ultravisors to see into alternate planes and dimensions of reality. But that's not even the beginning of it.
In its body is pure primordial energy and matter. It uses its Four Catalysts to extract that energy and matter from itself, and Golden Halo and Hooves to shape it into just about any object or form of matter/energy in existence. Or perhaps form it into a type of matter/energy which DOESN'T exist anywhere in nature. Most often, it converts its primordial matter into Hydrogen, which it breathes in large hot clouds much like Palkia, allowing for the creation of stars and celestial bodies. As almost any Godhand exists in the outermost regions of reality, at the very borders between the Universe and the void beyond, existing to breathe life into the void.
Alternatively, instead of creation, it can use Judgement to destroy. First, it uses a Life Plate to change its Type, by changing its physical composition entirely. And THEN, once its type has been modded, it uses Judgement to release countless shots of primordial manner which convert themselves into a form of matter most associated with that type. I.e. Splash Plate converts the light projectiles into jets of water, Zap Plate equals condensed balls of plasma and lightning, Insect Plate equals swarms of flesh-eating insects, Fist Plate equals flurries of fist-shaped energy projectiles, etc. Without a plate, the primordial matter doesn't change, and is treated as a Normal-Type attack. However, this doesn't make it any less destructive. When a Godhand becomes angry, and begins using Judgement, there's no way to stop it from carrying its will out. If it wants something dead, it WILL be dead. Not even the Creation Dragons can stop it.
The point is, it has such an acute rule over reality's rules because it MADE the rules. It was born in its cosmic egg before the rules were made. While it's unlikely any of us will ever confront Arceus, if perchance you do, take that into account. After all, it knows for certain you're more bound to the laws of physics than it is, and it's YOUR choice on whether or not you will take it as a sign of weakness.
( E ) Incidents: Are you guys ready for this?
Hall of Origin Incident: The Hall of Origin isn't located on Earth. I'm pretty sure you suspected that much, but wait! It goes even further than that! I have once come across a Pokemon Trainer who was a hero of Sinnoh, who had saved it from certain destruction when Team Galactic had nearly unmade our world to create a universe without spirit. From what I remember, his name was Lucas, and he had worked hard to become the Pokemon Master of Sinnoh by defeating Cynthia, and Team Galactic. I had heard about his exploits from Professor Rowan while I was in Sinnoh at the time, but since I had already booked a flight to Unova, I had a request for Lucas. He confided in setting his sights on the inaccessible area at the top of Mt. Coronet now that he had the Azure Flute, and I gave him a few survival tips to make it up there. I knew he's done it before, but one can never be too careful when seasons start changing in mountain areas. Although, I gave him a recording camera, and told him to just let it record what he finds up there. As a Pokemon Professor, I'm pretty sure I made the right choice, but I found myself very unsettled by what the camera brought back.
When Lucas began scaling the mountain, things...happened. When he stepped into the first cave inside Mt. Coronet, it looked only superficially the same in layout. But everything changed. There were no wild Pokemon to be seen at all. The cave's interior became a strange ruddy purple color. There were bizarre glowing circuit lines on the wall, with holographic monitors embedded within the walls. And the copper skeletons of radially symmetrical beings which must have been there for millions of years. In fact, the closest things to Pokemon Lucas saw there were these incredibly bizarre flying creatures of hard light that came out of the monitors, which resemble living Mandelbrot sets. The closest he got to battling them was using his Infernape to attack them when they nearly drove him mad with their computerized droning, and the way they inexplicably caused him to rapidly age for about 4 seconds. It was at that time, that he searched for the exit of the tunnel as fast as possible. Not to the exit, but towards the inaccessible location.
Little did Lucas know, this wasn't the end of it. The cave and its surroundings would shift six more times, each location going further away from the Earth than the last, while still retaining a vague semblance to Mt. Coronet's layout. Second shift, Lucas found himself in a cave lit by a green fire, and with the crystalline skeletons of various creatures patrolling the ceiling, with mechanical equipment fused into them. Lucas and his team were confronted by an enclave of Elgyem and Beheeyem clad in floating robes with a galaxy pattern on the inside, worshiping a giant sphere emitting a colorful kaleidoscope-pattern in it. Apparently praising an entity known as "Hzeyulqueyeog-Mnzhee, the God of Cyrkranosh." Lucas simply walked right past them to the next area, in spite of how long they stared at him with malevolent grins and piercing green eyes. Third shift, the side of the canyon he would normally be in was merely a void of floating rocks leading to the next cave, crowded with a horde of surreal, red-and-black creatures that looked like sentient spatial distortions. Said creatures caused rain, sunlight, a blizzard, and a sandstorm all at once before they held hands and chanted in an alien language, causing Lucas to shift again. Fourth shift, and he was in a cave with no ceiling, with a clear view into space. The Sun was merely a tiny yellow pixel in the sky, not even big enough to be a star, overshadowed by a fight between two entities. One vaguely bird-shaped entity made of what looked like cosmic strings, and one pitch black entity sprouting clawed arms from its amorphous body, their battle having caused a nearby star to be blown out, like a candle. When Lucas saw the bird creature gathering what looked like an entire galaxy in its body and swirling the energy into a bright multicolored ball of primordial energy, he fearfully fled into the cave to escape the fighting. Fifth shift, and the entire cave appeared to be made of crystal or glass, with rainbow light pouring in from any which way. Some light rays refracting off the walls, and producing some kind of bizarre entity made of various shades of blue. That time, Lucas had gotten incredibly disoriented, simply traveling to wherever the light shone brightest. Lucky for him that was the exit.
And, the last shift. When he was at the inaccessible location, at the very top of the mountain, Azure Flute in hand. In the skies, a flight of hard-light stairs manifested. And from out of the skies, from an inky black void, came a Godhand. From what we understand, the way to one of Arceus's Hands is a series of wormholes that takes you further away from the Earth each time, until you are likely at the very edge of the known universe. In an area not yet touched by the hand of creation. And I know this much: that individual Godhand KNEW he was coming. And had guided him to the Hall of Origin, where he would judge the trainer.
And then....the video's footage became mere white noise. No sound, no sight, nothing detailing their next conversation or how they got home. But the next time he emailed the tape back to me, and gave me a voice message, he showed no sign of trauma or fear from that exceedingly bizarre series of cosmic anomalies. Although his message was brief, as he said...
"Hey Doc. I'm setting my sights on new places and new challenges to become a Pokemon Master--no, not even that...a Pokemon Friend. Maybe in Kanto, or Kalos, or wherever. Regardless of where I go from here, I know I can do it, Professor. After all...I've got a guardian watching over me."
I don't know where he is now. But I imagine, he must be having one hell of a good time.
Michina Town Incident: You guys remember this? If not, let's recap.
Ragtag team of kids walk near Michina Town. Spatial anomaly opens up, stopped by Dialga. Another spatial anomaly kicks up, and Giratina appears, attempting to kick Dialga's ass for refusing to pay compensation expenses for Distortion World collateral damage. The young trainer who helped save Giratina's life and home last time recognized it, and decided that its grudge wasn't worth destroying the Earth in a matter-antimatter explosion. A Pokemon Empath named Sheena also appears to stop the conflict between Dialga and Palkia for good, allowing all three parties to forgive and forget, and simply go back home.
And as you might/might not know, this is where things went pear-shaped. Let's start from bottom on up, because context is EVERYTHING in this scenario.
According to legend and historical evidence, a long time ago, the Earth was in danger of being annihilated by a shower of asteroids. No, not meteorites like you may have heard, ASTEROIDS. Each one of them as large as San Francisco in diameter, and far too large and too fast to be pulled away by Jupiter's gravity. Our Earth was doomed to an untimely extinction...until one of Arceus's Godhands intervened. By itself, it had destroyed every asteroid and meteor hurtling towards the planet, reducing them into little more than iridium dust. And had also taken the impact from some of the biggest ones, each of which are 1 Billion times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. And the Godhand had successfully deflected multiple of these mega-scale impacts with its body. However, even this explosive amount of energy was too much for it, because its Life Plates were scattered during the attack. And what's more, its ring was damaged, ensuring disconnection from the Godmind, which would have ultimately killed this Godhand. However, its life was saved. A man named Damos had helped it retrieve its Plates, and allowed it to survive, even when its death appeared inevitable. This particular Godhand was grateful, and wanted to do something to repay its debt. So it did....Michina Town was little more than some desolate backwater settlement, a wasteland that trapped its inhabitants in a cycle of poverty and famine. So the solution: Give it new life.
The Godhand used five of its Plates to create the Jewel of Life, which had a miraculous effect on the land. It's crafted from the Splash, Meadow, Earth, Zap, and Draco Plates. It has the ability to lower the soil's PH, increase the amount of nitrogen and nutrients in the ground, produce an abundance of Hydrogen and Oxygen allowing for abundant clouds and frequent rainstorms, and can help the local wildlife develop healthy and strong. With the Jewel's ability to bring good weather, yield healthy crops and healthy livestock, Michina town was transformed from a wasteland into a thriving paradise. It knew it was putting its own life at risk, but it was happy to pay the price in one condition: that the Jewel of Life would be returned when the time comes. Yet...that never happened. Because according to myths, Damos believed that giving back the Jewel would only reduce his beloved town to a wasteland again. Gratitude be damned, he wouldn't let their people be prisoners of hunger and sickness again! He attacked the Godhand to keep the Jewel. Its attempts to reason with Damos and convince him that this wasn't the case failed, as Damos refused to believe that giving back the jewel would have any beneficial effect. He injured the Godhand enough to ward him off, causing it to see this attack as an act of ultimate betrayal, and sought to wreak judgement upon him and his people when he healed.
Cue to the present, when the betrayed Godhand's attempts to create a wormhole to our world had a negative effect on the spacetime continuum, causing Dialga's and Palkia's worlds to intersect, erroneously causing them to believe they were invading each other's territory. Cue to the destruction of spacetime during the Alamos Town Incident, the destruction of the Distortion World and fighting between Dialga and Giratina prior to the Zero Incident, and finally...Judgement.
First, on Michina Town, which was completely obliterated in a storm of energy projectiles, raining down and causing the land to become lifeless and barren, just like back then. Second, on the World. When Sheena had presented the Jewel of Life, which turned out to be a fake the entire time, causing the Godhand to believe mankind was untrustworthy, and deserving annihilation.
Records are fuzzy at this point. I mean our planet was effectively being destroyed by the Godhand's rampage, and would've reduced our Earth, our species to space dust had events not turned for the better. Interviews with the subjects in question reveal more that we didn't know about the incident:
1) Come the present day, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina attempted to stop Arceus' rampage, but failed. Thus, Dialga had sent the trainer tag team back in time to right what went wrong.
2) Damos intended all along to return the Jewel, and was never a traitor to begin with. The actual culprit is apparently a man named Marcus, who was Damos' assistant.
3) His plan was to get Damos to betray him by forcefully hypnotizing him into doing his bidding, by rejecting the Godhand, and finishing it off.
4) In the original timeline, Damos was hypnotized, attacking Arceus, and injuring him, but the counterattack causing Marcus to fall to his death.
5) In the altered timeline, Marcus knew they were onto him, and decided to use Silver Water (likely Liquid Mercury, or quickly-hardening molten metal) to kill the Godhand, by way of cutting off its connection to the Godmind entirely with repeated electric shocks.
6) Marcus had mind-controlled a whole horde of other Pokemon through a special suit of armor, and ordered them to finish off Arceus. Only for Sheena to touch their hearts and bring them back to their senses. Notably all Pokemon attacking the Godhand IMMEDIATELY realized that attacking Arceus in any way/shape/form was a terrible idea.
7) With the help of the determined Trainer Boy, and Damos himself, the Godhand gained back his Jewel at last, reviving him, and causing him to remember the second time mankind had saved its life, it using its power to warp them back to the present.
This is why they had to be brought in for Interview on events that we missed. Because from our perspective, the landscape very suddenly turned from a fiery hellscape to a lush paradise with no in-between transition, and it just had to take a look at the Trainer and his friends, and recognize them, causing it to immediately stop its attack, as if remembering something that already happened. It remembered, it HAS the Jewel already, and its health was restored. What's more, is that the Godhand was right, and that Michina Town remained a paradise because people worked to maintain its beauty and fertility. And lastly....it knows that it too can be a part of this world, rather than separated from it.
From the other events following this fiasco, something tells me he wasn't kidding.
Trainer Tips:
- This is all that needs to be said about Arceus in general. YOU CANNOT HOPE TO BE ON PAR WITH IT. SO UNLESS UNDER VERY SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES, NEVER TRY TO FIGHT IT. Although what makes it different than the other Creation Dragons is that none of Arceus's Godhands NEED to reduce you to free-floating molecules, or warp you back in time, or whatever. Arceus knows more than you do. It is more powerful than you or your Pokemon. What happens to you all depends on your character.
- DON’T CATCH IT. Just don’t. Aside from being next to impossible, I must also mention that Arceus WILL judge you for your actions. Any particularly heinous actions may lead to your death, your Pokmeon's death, or the extinction of mankind, or the obliteration of Earth, or a series of incidents which will destroy a large part of the spacetime continuum. So...choose your actions carefully.
- DON'T LIE TO ARCEUS. It will know if you're lying. And it will make you HURT. More than you may realize at first.
Personal Experiences: One thing to admit right off the bat. I witnessed the Michina Town Incident first hand. I saw as Arceus rained down destruction upon our planet, reducing everything in sight to an inferno. I was in higher ground, so I at least had a chance for survival, to better dodge projectiles of primordial light while taking pictures, and recording the entire incident. I've already shared the details of the Michina Town incident, although on camera it made no sense. It simply looked like Arceus burst into a peaceful town, and started using Judgement for no reason at all. And right after the area was sufficiently destroyed, it restored to normal without warning, while it continued to attack. Only to stop when faced with the trainer team, and had simply bade them farewell after fixing the damage. I also told you about this in my Dialga and Palkia report, where upon finally escaping alive, I dropped about $500 into my colleague's mailbox, and wrote a letter admitting he was right about their existence all along.
And I would've loved for the cosmic weirdness to end there! But it didn't!
Against my better judgement, and with permission from higher authorities who KNEW there was no way to cover the recent incidents up, I uploaded the two recorded tapes of Arceus on my MewTube channel. The first video titled "The Hall of Origin Incident - Up the Mountain" had gained about 2,112,565 views a week after uploading. The second video titled "The Michina Town Incident - Arceus Attacks" had gained about 2,231,432 within the same week. And those numbers kept soaring, as all of the footage had been found, analyzed by specialists, and with no trace of evidence that led to it being fake. No...the world saw this footage, and they realized, it was all real. And yet they didn't want to believe it, because the existence of an almighty deity of that calibur would be SCARY.
When that footage began circulating around the Internet, on the news, discussed on TV, referenced in video games and entertainment, things changed...people either solidified their faiths, or denounced them upon seeing evidence of a real omnipotent being. Arceus was added to the National Pokedex, and had quickly become a part of our popular culture and a being of religious significance whom some worship as the universe's true God. On the other hand, other people have eased the impact that this revelation had on them by portraying Arceus in popular culture and media, as a comedic or dramatic figure, humanized for easy viewing.
And then it circulated in Unova.
When these videos first showed up on Unovan servers, members of the Gothita line saw it first. And they acted on it. They must have had some recollection of their old religious faith in the Stellar Gods from so long ago. Because with evidence of a real live pantheon of cosmic deities, with science unable to disprove or deny their power, their faith had been reignited even stronger than before. What began as small cults became branches of worship and officially recognized religious doctrines, ran by Gothorita and Gothitelle, giving praise to the omnipotent gods of space and time, and asking for their planet's blessing. By the time my grandfather had passed away a year ago, with a shrine and grave made in his honor, his former Gothitelle named "Shelley" had made a sculpture to commemorate him, and made my grandfather's mansion home into a house of worship. Shelley became known as the Prophetess of Time, preceded by two other significant figures known as the Prophetess of Space, and the Prophetess of Matter. Who served under the founder of the whole branch, known as the Prophetess of Creation.
I could go on. I could tell you about the inexplicable changes of weather in some areas, nearby Gothitelle-built Cosmic Churches. I could tell you about the various kinds of extraterrestrial entities being teleported into their Churches, somehow fearful and subservient of these Gothitelle, not recognized as part of the official Pokedex on account of them being servants to them exclusively. I could tell you about these Gothitelle taking Pokemon companions with them as they mapped out regions of space to begin their old ways again.
And I could tell you about that time they evaluated their faith for good, when they took me into one of their churches and exposed me to a spatial distortion they created. As they had me peer into the Creation Trio's home realms, asking me to explain it with science. Only for me to be unable to so much as stutter and sputter as I tried to recover from seeing such a sight with my own eyes.
I could tell you about the sheer joy they felt, in finally having found something to believe in that cannot possibly be torn down. In having found a faith whose gods hear their prayers, and answer them.
But y'know what? I don't think I want to. That whole experience is probably STILL massacring my fragile human brain cells. So....I'm out. I'm gonna go report on something easy. Like Gogoat or something.

Okay, this is really good.
I really love how you drew comparisons with Azathoth, and highlight just how Eldritch Arceus would actually be.
It's both kind of terrifying, and really cool. Cosmic Horror at its finest.
I just have one question, however:
if Arceus is Azathoth, and Giratina is Yog Sothoth...
Then who's Nyarlathotep?

Tipsy, since Arceus is the creator, i wonder how the timeline of the Pokemon universe before the Present Era was like?, here i have ideas but it may not be accurate:
Before the planck epoch: there was an infinitely dense point described to be the Initial Singularity in a timeless void, its a Cosmic Egg, the question is... who laid it?, some people believe that extrauniversal and metaphysical alien beings called the MonadVersals (Monads for short) made it, the Monads live in the void between countless Universes and are said to be eternal and infinite in complexity, they have no beginning nor end, they like Universes with stories and once they create one they go into an epochal sleep, only waking up when a Universe dies.
Planck Epoch: quantum fluctuations and virtual particles occur near and inside the Cosmic Egg, eventually the Big Bang happens, a violent expansion in which space-time as we know it begins, the Godmind is born, the embodiments of time and space Dialga and Palkia are created including the emotion embodiments Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf (not in their current forms though) also it is said that during the violent expansion there were was what is possibly the first Pokemon species in existence, they were alien beings made of complex primordial energies yet they only lasted a single second, but these beings perceived time at near-infinite slow rates, much later the second species in the Universe appeared in which they are beings made of topological space-time defects, also weakly interacting massive particles, dark matter and dark energy may have appeared in this era, Primordial Black holes formed due to density fluctuations.
Grand Unification Epoch: the Godmind begins to slowly expand and the Godhands are created, many bizarre lifeforms made of primordial energy, spacetime defects, magnetic monopoles, quantum fluctuations, virtual particles, quantum foam, vacuum energies, gravitons, hot/cold dark matter and dark energy live in the relatively small yet big Universe as it expands, the fundamental forces merge and becomes the Grand Unified Theory and is mediated by the X & Y bosons, GUTforce lifeforms formed in this era, other spacetime defect lifeforms were composed of cosmic strings, domain walls, topological textures and skyrmions, there were "galaxies" made of primordial black holes with many black hole worlds.
Inflationary Epoch: Cosmic inflation began and actual light forms, a catastrophic phase transition event for many lifeforms living here, but most of them survived, there were alien invaders composed of symmetry breaking fluctuations, more Godhands are being created by the Godmind and it expanded a lot.
Electroweak Epoch: a wide array of exotic particles form like the W & Z bosons and the Higgs Boson, lifeforms made of cold axions formed, beings composed of Higgs Bosons existed too, quarks appear and form quark-gluon plasma.
Quark Epoch: the Universe is now filled with light via background radiation, atoms as we know it were not formed yet, Giratina was created to be the originally the guardian of matter, antimatter formed, there were lifeforms made of quarks, antimatter, radiation, electromagnetic energy, hadrons, matter-clusters, tachyons, there were "galaxies" of glowing particles and antimatter "galaxies" of anti-particles, much later matter and antimatter conflicts begin, Giratina rebels against Arceus because Giratina was trying to change the Universe to its own way, Giratina was soon banished into the Distortion World which is a chaotic parallel Universe made of Antimatter.
Hadron & Lepton Epoch: another phase transition event happens, the Universe cools again, protons, neutrons and leptons form, even more Godhands appear.
Photon Epoch: the Universe still glows with light, no stars were formed yet but there were vast seas of quagma in various shapes, there were lifeforms made of quark-gluon plasma, bose-einstein condensates, quark matter in the accretion disks of black holes, photonic matter, supersymmetric dark matter, dropletons, also dark matter halos formed, however at the end of the era another phase transition event began, all the quarks and gluons were locked up inside baryons, Big Bang nucleosynthesis begins...
the Pokemon universe is now dominated by baryonic matter, the photons of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation originate at the Recombination epoch.
Stelliferous Era: after 155 million years (or more) Palkia makes the first stars and more..., countless galaxies began to form, galactic structures like clusters and superclusters and filaments form, quasars form, the supersymmetric dark matter lifeforms called the Photavians evolve, many types of lifeforms across countless planets and other countless celestial bodies evolve, as the Universe expands space begins to accelerate, much later our solar system forms including the Planet Earth.
as the Universe accelerates Arceus keeps expanding and more Godhands continue to be created, who knows what might happen after the Stelliferous Era, but because of the Godmind some believe new types of exotic matter and celestial bodies may arise soon.
one last thing to note is with the many types of alien pokemon a.k.a spacemons in the Universe there is also the Lovecraftmons, described to be extremely powerful and enigmatic cosmic entities that can originate from anywhere, most of them have blue and orange morality, however others are malignant, several cosmic entities may originate from other Universes and even the Distortion World, it is said that an "opposite" of the Godmind might lurk somewhere at the ends of the Unobservable Universe, with countless uncaring Godhands trying to spread chaos against the order in the Universe.

at Canalave's Library a hiker said this quote during the myth about Arceus: "A Pokémon is said to have shaped this world.Could that Pokémon be the physical form of the original spirit?".
Arceus shaped the entire Universe, so is the Original Spirit the Godmind itself?, the Original Spirit could have formed not just the Universe but the main Multiverse.

also a lot of alien Godhands would be made of more varietes of materials and different kinds of alien matter than Earth's horse-like Godhand, for example:
the tentacled hammerhead-shaped thing with maybe clusters of matter-editing orbs for the Elgyem family, a nuclear-based Clifford torus entity for the Toronas, a multidimensional crystalline sphere for the Vajr species, a supersymmetric cosmic string/dark matter entity for the Photavians, a complex-shaped inforhazardous entity for the Lox-a-a-a-o Dea, etc.
what are your thoughts on that?.

I think the appearance of individual Godhands would vary, making it functional enough to effectively navigate the areas that it created by its own hand.
It would seem that our Arceus Godhand is a quadruped, since it reflects how many of Earth's dominant lifeforms are quadrupeds. If not for functionality, then for familiarity should it ever descend down to the people it had created.
And I think the same holds true for other sentient Pokemon races! The Elgyem's Godhand would have a hammer-head, which is actually a vastly distended brain, surrounded by many colorful orbs. The Toronas' Godhand would look like a multicolored Clifford Torus that contains massive amounts of primordial energy trapped in a shell of mysterious matter. Meanwhile, the Vajr's Godhand would resemble a kind of amorphous crystalline fractal kind of like this 1.bp.blogspot.com/-EvjFQmB-_8c…
It's ALWAYS different! But oftentimes, best reflects the dominant species of a given area it's created.
Not to mention, I noticed you seem to REALLY like this particular report!

given the size of the Universe, there could be more than just 1000 Godhands..., and the Lesser Mind would spread across all the continuum.

Very interesting and well thought-out!
It's always cool to see different people's interpretations of Arceus.
Funny thing is: I actually interpret Arceus as being very similar to Azathoth myself, but sane and capable of conscious thought.
My own personal theories on the Thousand Arms and Arceus's physical form differ from your interpretations, true, but I very much like your theories and ideas, as they're unique, creative, and honestly fairly awesome.
(But of course, regardless of interpretation, the Cosmic Weirdness remains the same.)
I'm greatly enjoying your reports so far, and I look forward to seeing which Pokémon you do next.
(Also, the sheer amount of mindf*ckery your researcher goes through amuses me. )

please answer one of my previous questions further down, also here is another question: would Arceus's Primordial Energy have some stuff like Quantum Fluctuations and Virtual Particles?, since these could have been involved in the Big Bang.

Thank you very much dude!
I aimed to present Arceus as being an entity whose existence is more wide-scoped than we'd think at first when looking at it. And I'm glad that you liked it. ^^

So the Arceus we know is just one of 1000 "Godhands", connected to the Godmind, the true Arceus? I'm speechless, now that's making sense about the Jewel of Life movie or Super Mystery Dungeon! I'm just imaging how many worlds with an corresponding Godhand are here without being aware...
I've one question because of the Fairy type: We got introduced in Gen 6 with the Fairy type and Arceus got a Fairy plate. Could it mean there are more Life Plates of Arceus than we thought? The god is truly a mystery towards us and it's hard, even impossible to grasp it with our human minds...

Fable Name: Arceus
DEXID: NONE
True Name and Title: Silmauril Arkay, the Malformed Djinn
Sentoryoku: Level 16
Caster Level: 10(.5)
Quintessence Capacity: 32
Quintessence Recovery: 10 to 16 per day
Arcane Stability Threshold: 11
-Sanctum report-
Arkay is a Djinn, a bieng who fullfils wishes of up to 10th level in power. its by a sick turn of luck it fulfilled the wish of pokemon apocalypse. Arkay died at 12 SPA During the Dragon Rebelion.
==
Dex Name: Arceus
DEXID: 493
True name and Title: Arceus #4
Sentoryoku: Level 7
Caster Level: 4
Quintessence Capacity: 15
Quintessence Recovery: 2 to 5 per day
Arcane Stability Threshold: 6
-Sanctum Report-
A clone of Arkay's weakened form during the dragon rebelion. its current clone meant to keep the pokemon curse active as long as possible. Despite the falsified pokedex report, its very easy to subdue with some tactics. If you need to engage for your life, standard firearms also work, just as good. Bernard Sanshiro killed the last one of these with nothing but a baseball bat and a handgun.

Incredible report on the Creator God Arceus itself Tipsy!, it can be considered Azathoth-Lite, but then there is the ultimate chaos Azothotholl..., which is chaotically mindless, and paradoxically it may have what i call a "Chaosmind", so Tipsy, what could be the actual origins of Azothotholl in the Pokemon Universe?.
Also more questions:
are those copper skeletons the remains of Eldarines?
the thing that was fighting the Photavian in the fourth shift, was that a Xeelee-inspired legendary spacemon?.
could all the 1000 Godhands join and get closer to the Godmind and can become even more powerful in eldritch ways?.

I didn't think Arceus would be Azathoth, even considering that it's Pokémonized.
If humans aren't supposed to catch it, how would one ever catch them all? Do Legendary Pokémon simply give Dex entries to humans that deserve the information?

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to IntegerMova [2016-05-09 00:44:09 +0000 UTC]
I personally think that the "Catch 'Em All" is just kind of a thing for gameplay. Because Pokemon in general has a lot of Gameplay-Story segregation as it is.
I'm thinking in the case of most legendary Pokemon, people don't necessarily have to see or catch them, but come across ancient records of them located only in certain places. Old relics and murals detailing their mythology, and Bam! It's in the Dex.
This is to allow trainers to focus their efforts on Mons that they can actually expect to find and train, since most people just run into Legendaries by pure luck, or through very special circumstances.

I figure that gameplay should not be integrated with flavor. It isn't very tasty...
So, I wonder what Arceus's 999 other hands look like. I have a feeling they don't necessarily look like the llama we know and love. Instead, they could render themselves to resemble xeno-animals the planets the Godhands created.
So, I'm not sure if you knew, but Smogon has finished their 21st CAP a while back. It's called "Crucibelle," and it is capable of Mega Evolving. They haven't made a Fairy yet; that is not surprising, as Fairy is more broken than Dragon was in the metagames of Gens 4 and 5. Compared to types that don't need to adhere to the rules, powerful earthly types - such as Dragon, Steel, and Fairy - seem reasonable.

Well, in a sense, each Godhand can change their composition to whatever would suit their current method of operation, so while they may be made of similar materials, they most definitely don't have to look the same as our world's Godhand. Members of the Elgyem family tell of having discovered an entity similar to the Earth's Godhand, although theirs took the shape of a an impossibly tall creature on columnar legs, whose head resembled that of a hammerhead shark, while a multitude of nondescript tentacles grew out from its underbelly.
And I actually just recently found this out! It's very interesting, seeing the CAP Project still going strong!
Although I do get that Dark, Dragon and Fighting types needed balance, you're pretty right about that. They ARE pretty broken in a way one doesn't expect!

That's quite abstract. It seems like various Elgyem and Beheeyem have encountered some even more Eldritch entities.
CAP is going strong, but they really slowed the process down. We only got four for Gen 6.

the other 999 Godhands would look more and even more abstract, now about Arceus, it's Normal-Type would be for each individual Godhand, but the Godmind and the 1000 Godhands combined could be Galaxy/Chromatic/Eldritch for me.
