Pinkamena Diane Pie is the youngest of her sisters and the most colorful, a trait she inherited from her father’s side of the family. Pinkie Pie grew up in Rockville, a mining town for rocks, crystals, and other minerals. The majority of the town is quite traditional, with values leading back to the early days of earth ponydom; Pinkie’s parents, however, were less so; in fact, they were by far the most supportive parents anyone could ask for. Except when it came to moving out, who’s going to protect you, Pinkie? Who’ll look out for you, Pinkie? Who’ll keep all those awful ponies away from you, Pinkie? They were understandably apprehensive about their youngest child moving out and away from home but conceded and sent Pinkie off with hugs, love, and the knowledge on how to dislocate a pony’s shoulder in seconds.

Pinkie Pie left Rockville and went to Ponyville, her grandmother’s favorite place in all of Equestria, and went to live with the Cakes - distant relatives twice removed thrice added and four times hopped over - who were happy to help her out. The Cakes helped her join Ponyville’s local college, where she majored in psychology and business, with minors in theatre, and culinary arts, which she all passed with flying colors. After that, she’d joined the Cakes and become a familiar figure in their home; she’d go on to meet the mane 6, wield the element of laughter, help ponies and creatures from all walks of life, and meet the loves of her life, Cheese Sandwich and Princess Skystar.
