This picture is better than the entirety of that train wreck of a videogame.

It’s sad that they never recaptured that magic.

Unfortunately the mighty Fox Studio is now part to "Mickey" world, and I guess they are planning to transform others big hit into stupid "child movies' as they do with Star Wars.

Not my understanding.  Disney plans to release rated R movies and stream them on Hulu.  That could change, but it's my understanding.

I'm a fan of Disney, so I don't share any of the hate aimed at them.  Star Wars was always a child series.  It was in the 80s, 90s and now.  We grew up, but the movies are still for kids.  The only exception might be Rogue One.  My kids love the new movies (except maybe Solo) and the cartoons, because they were created for them not us original fans.  If you except that and the fact that nothing will surpass your love of the originals, you might be able to enjoy the new movies and cartoons for what they are.  Mandalorian, on the other hand, looks like it might appeal to the original fans better than anything else so far.

As far as Aliens go, I've always been mad that they didn't do the epic movie that was originally was planed for 3.  Hicks and Nute were suppose to return and there was supposed to be an epic fight on earth.  The studio decided it would be expensive and went with a total rehash of the 1st movie (except in a prison).  None of the movies after 3 were any good.  AvP took so long to get to the good part that I stopped watching it before it got there (TV).  Every time someone comes behind James Cameron in a series, they fail to measure up.  Cameron came back too late to save Terminator (as a producer, not director).  I haven't seen Dark Fate, but it's doing bad at the box office.

Interesting your opinion about Mickey "cannibalism".
I'm against big monopoly and Disney studio is going to convert into a studio eater, and as you know, Disney has a specific value not shared by all the public across the USA or around the world.

Regarding Star Wars "child" view, I disagree a little, basically Star Wars was the Lucas's version from a Kurosawa movie title "the Hidden Fortress", Lucas is a long-standing fan of Kurosawa and helped this great director to produce Kagemusha another big hit.

When you look at Star Wars the first movie, there is plenty of japanese cultural reference from Bushido and other martial art. For example Jedi is close to one of Japanese samurai genre: Jidai (Jidai Geki), as for the Jedi order is only a Scifi Samurai or even Ronin.

The same for the Force, which can be seen as a Bushido "ghost" reference, Lucas changed (in my opinion) the Bushido law to a more metaphysical description, the Jedis follow the Force rule as Samurai follows the Bushido. I'm talking about Star Wars 1977, because the Empire strike back and Return of Jedi are different from the first movie. So, the first movie from 77 was far from a child movie, for people from the 70s it was much more a dramatic Scifi movie than a child movie.

Now, when you compare Star Wars franchise with other sci-fi movies like Starship Troopers or Alien, yes, the first is much more soft.
And now Mickey is meddling with Star Wars.

I'm much more Star Trek than Star Wars in fact

About Aliens, that's interesting, I never heard about the episode 3 on Earth, in my opinion Aliens was enough, no reason to add more movies because everybody knows what's Alien, the first movie was a surprise (it's another Scifi adaptation from Mario Bava's movie), Cameron fantastic idea was to use nor a single Alien but an Aliens colony. That was the big idea, unfortunately there is always crazy producers seeking much money and looking for episode 3, 4,5

I also agree with you about Terminator, two parts are enough, the TV series was better than the rest of the following movies, and Dark Fate is only a new piece of garbage

I don't think we're going to agree about Disney.  I don't dislike a corporation just because they are big and successful.  Examples of corporations I despise are cigarette companies, who's products literally kill people.  Pharmacy companies who overcharge for life saving medicines, so they can enrich themselves and their share holders.  The list goes on and on.  Disney is not perfect, but there are far worse corporations out there.  Disney has done an outstanding job with Marvel and I've enjoyed all of their Star Wars movies.  The only Star Wars thing they produced that I don't like that much is the latest cartoon "Star Wars" Resistance."  The main character is too much of a goof ball for my liking.  Not as bad as Jar Jar, but close.

While I agree that there is plenty in Star Wars that adults can appreciate (Star Wars is what triggered my life long interest in martial arts and Asian Philosophy),  George Lucas, the father of Star Wars, is on record numerous times, stating that Star Wars was created for 12 year old boys (I was younger than that when the 1st one came out).  He said that about the original as well as the prequel trilogies.

I'm sorry for "colonized" your awesome artwork.

I agree with you we're not going to agree on "Mickey' studio.
I'm not against a big studio, my preferred are the 20th century and Paramanount, the problem is what represent Disney, it's a familial themed studio that bought an adult studio such Fox We can't melt two genre of studios, Fox it's a big studio for scifi lovers: Planet of the Apes franchise, Alien, predator, star wars, Independence day, X-men, Avatar, Alien nation, The Abyss etc...

About Marvel movies, I'm not a big fan from Marvel movies, one is enough, there is always the same schemes in Marvel movies: divide the movie into various super-heroes stories at the end of the movie all the super-heroes gather to fight the Big Villain.  This scheme is turning around and around  In my opinion movies like The Shadow or the Phantom are better than all the current marvel stuff, because they don't need super FX to works.

To finish on Star Wars, I think it's a question of generation, I'm from the 70-80's generation and I've seen much more John Wayne movies than Fx movies.
