Taken on the Towpath Trail, north of Beaver Marsh - Cuyahoga Valley National ParkAbout a month ago, I got up very early before the sun came up and took a leisurely photographic walk around Beaver Marsh as a welcome break from all the hectic life of being a student. As I was walking back toward Beaver Marsh, I came around the corner to see this picturesque view of the Towpath Trail. Just a hint of the mist lingering along the gravel and the sun starting to peek out to illuminate the changing of colors on the trees.
What is it about moments like this, in the quiet hush of the sunrise, that brings such a sense of serenity to the soul?

The serenity hits me like a ton of bricks, in a good way... this looks like a very nice place. I would seriously consider Ohio or Pennsylvania, which is quite similar in several ways as far as natural occurrences (and has the abandoned town of Centralia as well), as a place to live if it wasn't for the harsh winters, they are lovely places with a decent cost of living... great photo...

Thank you so much for that...when I'm able to evoke some feeling from someone viewing my photo, it is such a high compliment and makes me feel so good. I have to admit that when I moved to Ohio, I was thinking "what the heck, it's the armpit of America!" but with each passing year I find more and more beauty in the place and the surrounding area. I do wish we didn't have such awful winters though!

Oooooh, Arkansas!! Yes definitely the armpit! I was in a wedding many years ago near Little Rock and it was the ugliest state I'd ever been in. LOL
