Description Something long overdue....

*edit*
Shortened the legs of the Spinosaurs according to new discoveries.
Did a little tweaks here and there.... especially to the heads of the Carcharodontosaurs.
Vers 3 on the way.
Currently drafting it. Will continue once I get more information on Yangchuanosaurus and Chilantaisaurus.

Mapusaurus looks undersized if you ask me. But still, very nice piece

I thought Carcharodontosaurus was longer than Giganotosaurus.

I did this quite awhile back. But I still am suspicious why current estimates of Carcharodontosaurus is higher than Giganotosaurus when equivalent fossils of the latter are reportedly larger in dimensions.

Um, and what do you think were long Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus? I knew 13.2 meters for Giganotosaurus and 14 meters for Carcharodontosaurus.

As of now, 12.4m for the Giganotosaurus holotype and 13-13.7m for MUCPv-95. For Carcharodontosaurs, anywhere between 11-14m. I don't have much concrete data on it.

They were actually the same size from the material in our possession.

Really? I would guess so. However, their skulls were built very differently.
What materials do you have now?

The material in our possession is not much, so it is difficult to determine who was the biggest among Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus. Giganotosauru seems to have been a little more robust with larger skull, and Carcharodontosaurus a bit more slender and thin, but they were both long between 13 and 14 meters and weighed between 7 and 9 tons.

I totally agree with you on your observations as that is what I have concluded as well even though you still have not answered what materials did you use for your studies. We cannot exclude Mapusaurus and Tyrannotitan as well. All 4 are too similarly sized.

About the edit, we have always had Suchomimus' leg (except for the metatarsals). It has a femur 1.08 meter long, and a tibia 94 centimeters long. Slighty shorter than Tyrannosaurus, true, but still not squatting. Still, I am comparing it to Scott Hartman's skeletal, and I do not see many differences in proportions, so feel free to ignore that.

Cool, I didn't know about the actual measurements. Will work them into the drawing.
Thanks for the info.

A huge improvement over the previous version, gotta love the slight feathering of the Tyrannosaurs.
