Description
So after playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for the past two months (checks calendar... yeah two months) I couldn’t help but start thinking up some LoZ ideas. So here’s some ideas for the personal weapon of a Rito spear master attached to said ideas (I will talk more about said character in future updates, of if asked, whichever comes first). I named it Hawk Spear to fit with the naming scheme of Rito bows in BotW.
The spear tip has two key features across designs: a bifurcated tip and a hook. The bifurcated tip allows the user to catch and possibly break an opponent’s weapon. The bifurcation narrows from 40 mm to 28.5 mm to effectively catch spears or swords. The hook allows for the user to dismount opponents on horseback. The shaft is the same across versions and features a spiked buttcap.
Concept 1 takes the namesake to its logical conclusion with a bird beak design but is perhaps a bit too fantastical. Concept 2 takes the curved end of Concept 1 and uses it as the hook. The curved bifurcation means that using that feature to catch weapons would likely be more difficult. Concept 3 simplifies the design while retaining the primary features though the hook might be a little too far down on the tip to be easily used. Threw in a triforce etching to have some weight reducing features and for decoration, though I didn’t have time to put it on the third version.
Size conversion (rounded):
Concept 1 = 7.92 ft long spear, 2.15 ft long spear tip
Concept 2 = 8.23 ft long spear, 2.46 ft long spear tip
Concept 3 = 8.60 ft long spear, 2.94 ft long spear tip
