Description
"Tonight, under a full moon, the dead shall rise again... and dance!"Being resurrected to attempt to take over the world every century is something that gets tiring after a while. It's a repetitive process: you come back to life in a flashy display within a chapel thanks to the hard work of your loyal occult followers, you raid some settlements, induct more followers, raise an undead army, and eventually a plucky hero or group of heroes strike you down violently. Then, you rinse and repeat the whole thing all over again after a while.
After the resurrection into century 21, Lord Ominous decided that he'd had enough of it. It wasn't a fulfilling un-life anymore, and it hadn't been ever since humanity started to devise so many of their own vices for destruction a couple centuries ago. Much to the shock of his delusional loyalists, it was time for something new... something different.
Lord O. found a new vice quite quickly. In addition to the usual hobbies of destruction, he'd always held an interest in the art of music. He always made a point of having a grand pipe organ installed in each chapel of resurrection, but he never did have much time to use it. Seeing a new opportunity, Ominous quickly set to researching how to get started as a fledgling musician.

This concept has been beating around my head for a good two years now, and it was about time I put it to pencil and paper. Technically, I did so those two years ago, but I didn't get around to posting the piece, and when it did cross my mind, I just looked at it and saw a drawing that I was very unhappy with. The pose was bland, the color palette could have been much better, and some of the design decisions were simply nonsense. This one, while far from perfect, is much better for what I had in mind, even if it's very similar to that first draft in many ways.
I actually finished this one on time for Halloween, even! I just... was too occupied with stuff I had arranged ahead of time to post it. However, you know what? It's not a Halloween specific design, I did upload some of his concept art back in October, and there's still an entire month until it becomes truly out of season. Anyways, I'm just happy to have the design out there for people to look at, and after two years without posts, no less! Hopefully that doesn't happen again.
With that out of the way, and while there's still time to be relevant...
