Description
"Oh my, is it really that time again already?"Ah, I unintentionally got this finished on the day of the end of Daylight Savings Time for this year! How fitting! I had just finished coloring it this morning, too.
This is s character design idea that I've had in my head for months on end now but didn't start drawing until late October of this year. This is Showtime, an Elizabethan era actor with a clock/time theme, complete with a digital clock for a head with traditional alarm clock bells on the sides. Once just a simple actor from the days of William Shakespeare, he ended up in our era through one of two methods: 1). being brought back from the dead ant turned into this "timely" character, or 2). having traveled through time with his trusty pocketwatch. I haven't decided on which backstory I like better. Maybe you could provide some input.
His name actually has more than one meaning to it. On one "hand", it is, of course, a reference to "showtime," or the time when a showing of some sort (i.e. a movie or stageplay). On the "second hand," (You see what I did there?) however, it's referring to how his head shows the time. I remember having a third meaning for his name, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe you could say that his name is also an unintentional pun for "Slow time," as if he were to slow time down? His pocketwatch can probably let him do that...
If I remember what it was, I'll post it in a comment.
Anyway, this character is actually a character that I'd like to use in this weird, somewhat satirical story idea of mine. I'm currently working on a drawing of what the story's protagonist would look like, so maybe that will be uploaded soon? ...Maybe?
FUN FACT: I based his head off of my own digital clock!
