Description
Number six in my DANCE! series of Avatar fanart! And number one in the subseries, pas de deux. What better choice for Katara and Zuko than the fiery tango?(This picture drove me insane. The pencil sketch wouldn't turn out, and then the inking fixed those problems, but the coloring was a pain, and I lost my layers and had to directly adjust the exported .jpeg, and and and. >_< The final result isn't too bad, though. I suppose, like the pairing itself, it just had to be fraught with troubles. There will be more solo and pas de deux pictures coming soon!)
And what are they dancing to, you ask? Their own beat. <3

I know you probably get the "are you going to do THIS pairing?" speil all the time, but: have you considered doing some of the older pairings, like Ozai/Ursa?

Now, where did I say he was an earthbender? ^_^ That's just him wearing his Earth Kingdom disguise from Season 2. A little nod to the cave scene, persay. (He gets to wear proper Fire Nation clothes in his solo pose.)

Oh, no problem! As a dancer, I absolutely love the one you did for Toph as well. Very good form you gave her. And Sokka...oh, Sokka, lol. No, one of my favorite dances to do is a pas de deux, especially if I'm working with a partner I really like, but what I love about how you drew this is that you truly captured their feelings for each other--it's a really beautiful piece, and signifies love, just as a pas de deux is supposed to. Bravo! =3

This is beautiful. Trust is such a **huge** aspect of partner dancing, and you can see that in this picture Katara has it for Zuko.

Trust being a huge aspect of their relationship, too, it's a lucky thing the picture turned out this way. (Seeing as how it was drawn months and months before the trust question even came into the equation...)

My favourite bit? Katara's whole head. I love LOVE the expression on her face, and the way her hair is moving, and how HAPPY she looks, and the UPSIDEDOWNNESS is really quite BEYOND awesome.

Thank you! Actually, making Zuko look happy was harder; there weren't a lot of happy Zuko shots for reference when I drew it. I think I got pretty close, though... Katara's hair required repeated redraws while I tried to get it to swing right. I'm glad the results had the desired effect.
