Because it's adorable: Cream and Tails. Next to PipBelle, this is my favourite child pairing. Nearly all the fanwork I've seen, even without the couple part of it, just made me go 'daww' when I saw it. It also counts for 'because of fanwork' and 'because they are alike'.

Because it's hot: Sally and Sonic. There are a number of reasons this is my No. 1 pairing, but when I see these two onscreen or read in the comics (yes, I've seen the first few issues from a friend), I either laugh, cry or my heart just melts. It also counts for 'because they're alike', 'because they are opposites' (confusing right), and 'because it's canon' (until the reboot).

Because it's plausible: Vector and Vanilla. I like seeing Vector get shy around a girl, quite possibly being a good dad for Cream, and also just helping Vanilla around the house type thing.

Because they are alike: Knuckles and Julie-Su. Some accuse them of being too much alike, but I don't see that myself. They are alike, yes, but I think Julie-Su's a bit more easy going than Knuckles is.

Because they are opposites: Shadow and Rouge. Maybe not too much on the opposites side of things, but Rouge is certainly a lot more free spirited than Shadow is.

Because it's canon: Bunnie and Antoine. Slowing getting a crush on each other in the comics, then dating, then marrying and still together in the reboot, even when Bunnie is half robotised again. That's true love.

Because of Subtext: Espio and Nicole. I've seen one comic where Nicole is upset after Mina's concert, and Espio was there for her to cheer her up. Some of the dialogue implied there was something there maybe. I thought it was sweet.

Because of Fanwork: Silver and Blaze. Ok, to be fair, I did really start shipping them after I saw 06, but the fanwork kinda drew me in a bit before that.

Because I can!: Amy and Manic. I was thinking about who to pair up with Amy for a while, then I saw Sonia with Knuckles from underground and Sally with Sonic from both SatAm and the Archie comics prior to the reboot, and realised Manic didn't have a girl yet. So, I put them together. This was before I found fanwork of the two BTW.
