I don't want to be discoured from sharing my hard work because of a few individuals with thieving tendencies, don't ruin this for me. Thanks.
Edit III Dear mother of God, over 1000 faves, thankyou deviantArt!! I think there'll be a part 2 coming soon to this tutorial that was never meant to be a part 1...
Edit II Wow over 600 faves! Thankyou so much I rarely get over 10 faves on my work, I guess deviantArt loves Tutorials.
Edit Loads of people have been really lovely about this tutorial, I'd love to thank everyone individually but that wouldn't be possible so... Thanks for all the support.
If you use the tutorial send me a link and I'll give you any more advice I think you might need.
I'd just like to say this is a beginner's tutorial and this is the method for colouring I used, which served me in good stead whilst I learnt about digital painting, there are other, much better tutorials on deviantArt which can show you more advanced methods of painting.
I made this for myself, so that I had some skin swatches to hand. Then I got ahead of myself and well... here it is.
I'm happy to answer questions.

Eh I don't like the smudge tool
Still Good tutorial

TobyFoxArt In reply to superhermit [2012-06-17 16:24:28 +0000 UTC]
Thanks. You don't have to follow it, but the same method works if you use a low opacity 10-20% soft brush and and use the colour yo're trying to blend it into.

superhermit In reply to TobyFoxArt [2012-06-17 19:54:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's what I'm trying to blend with so far
... Tried the smudge way when I started out and wasn't feelin it.
I'm sure it's great but not for me

This is a basic way of colouring, I mainly use the low opacity brush technique, but there were already tutorials for this on dA so I made an alternate.
Thanks for the feedback.

Do those colors have HTMl codes that go along with them? Where do you get them? thanks!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TobyFoxArt In reply to izzygrace289 [2012-06-12 20:22:04 +0000 UTC]
No they don't, I took them from my mind, I'd been meaning to make on so I don't have to find the colours every time I draw something... just copy the picture and 'eye drop' the colours.
