Would you possibly be able to tell me what the assignment was?

Sure- but you'll be disappointed! The assignment was: COLOR KEYS! hahaha basically these little guys were an aspect of most assignments we got, which would be to design an original story or re-design an existing one. These are pulled from 2 separate assignments.

Sure- I'm a student at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and this was for a course called Cinematic Storytelling. I'd recommend the school thoroughly, but not the course.
Good luck!

Oooooh, I really really love the first and last ones... The sense of scale and the lighting in the first one really grabbed me, and so did the shaft of light with the hint of columns and arches in the last one.

Wow <3 The lighting on the blue one (with the waterfall) is especially magical. Your eye for colour is amazing. I envy you that skill.

So beautiful. The colours really help with the emotions you feel from each piece- the orange and blue ones are my favourite.

It's amazing how much detail you've got in each of these without it looking crowded or anything.
They're all so beautiful.

The interesting thing is that, in spite of all the different colours and settings, they all look peaceful to me. I wonder why.

I feel like I'm learning a lot just by watching you post things. reveal to me the secret mysteries of the drawing universe! I especially am feeling the light in the last two. they feel mystical somehow, as opposed to ominous or sad.
