Description Woo, I've made a tutorial!
This is my first time doing a tutorial, so I hope it will help you in some way. I think the file is kinda big, but I hope you guys don't mind. xD

SO, I made a tutorial about how to flatten a 'curly' wig. I made this because I thought that there is someone out there that need some help but can't find it, I also made this because it was fun, haha. It's also my first time trying something like this with a wig, but it worked so I guess it will work for the most of them out there.

If you have a question or need help, please let me know and I'll try to help you!
And I'm sorry if I have spelled something wrong, but english isn't the first thing I learn here, I'm from Sweden so ... yeah. D:

Note to everyone: Don't use that kind of plastic comb that I showed you in the pic, it can just 'murder' you wig, as I use to say, instead use a brush, it's better in many purposes. xD

Note number two: The straightener might not work on every wig, it mostly works for heat resistant fiber wigs, other then that, it might not work at all, then you'll just end up burning the wig or melt it, which is not fun! What you can try though is to take a vet towel and take that over & under the hair and then take the straightener and drag, I think it should work, if not, then blame me!

HOPE YOU LIKE THE TUTORIAL!
Please fav if you like it and comment if it worked for you.

i dont know if my wig is heat resistant, it didnt say on the sight >.< should i just use the lowest setting on the bottom of the wig before i shorten it to see what happens? (if it melts or burns or straightens)? or is that a horrible idea? .3.

You can try to flatten it at the bottom to see what happens and if it works, well, then it's just to the rest of the wig.
It's should work though, it mostly works for almost every wig. (:

I haven't tried to wash it yet, but I think it will be straight forever, but I don't know because I've never tried yet. ^^'

About your little note, I'm pretty sure the hair straightener won't work on every wig. If the wig isn't made of heat resistant fibers, the fibers will just melt and burn under the straightener, which isn't fun :c

I used a hair straightener on a cheap plastic wig from a party store, and it turned out perfectly. Just set it on very low heat and it can straighten anything

Ravengirl9 In reply to Saccstry [2012-05-17 14:45:04 +0000 UTC]

Really? Wow, that's surprising xD I was told if it wasn't heat resistant, it would melt >_>

Saccstry In reply to Ravengirl9 [2012-05-18 21:50:02 +0000 UTC]

It would if you used regular heat. But just put it on the lowest heat possible and lightly (don't clamp it shut like you would real hair) run the hair between it.

That might happen, yes, but try to have a vet towel and have it over the hair, I think that will work, if not the blame me. D:

I'm not blaming you, I just thought it would be something that could be added or made clearer. I think you did a great job on the tutorial, and the wig looks great

Awesome!
En liten hint dock! Det finns ju peruker som inte tål värme. Som du och jag som är proffs vet ;3 lol >w<
Men tänk på att det finns noobs där ute som kanske smälter sin peruk om det inte vet det xD
Bra turtorial föresten!

Tohkoe In reply to Kozekito [2012-05-16 20:11:36 +0000 UTC]

Tack så mycket. (:
