This is my wig that I styled for Drocell from Kuroshitsuji . It looks longer than his hair, but I actually remembered to accommodate for the wig head being undersized.

I used my Homedics Commercial Garment steamer and a kanekalon wig. Steamers aren't as expensive as one might think, if I remember correctly I only paid $50 for mine.

EDIT: Also, I tested this out with hand-held portable steamers. It works just as well. These will run you $10-20 and can be found at places like Target or Bed Bath & Beyond.

Steam is awesome. I came up with this over the weekend after I tried unsuccessfully to curl the ends of this wig using the red curling iron shown in the tutorial. It runs too hot and started crinkling the fibers (on the way to melting them - not so awesome) However, with steam, the heat source is not as intense but will still style the fibers. I even used steam to de-crinkle the fibers I previously damaged, not a bad payoff.

The great thing is you can curl and straighten with steam and back again! In fact, I had to go back and straighten the 2 front chunks of hair lol. So these pics used for the tutorial are not exactly final.
