Over the weekend, I red a Manga series called +Anima. It's very good, and definitely a worthwhile read. I'd have purchased all of the books, if they'd been in the store. Alas, only the last 3 were there...the rest is readable online through one of those English translation manga places.

In it, there are people, the +Anima, who through some experience that should have killed them, gained "the power of an animal spirit," which saved them from death, and they gain attributes from that animal.

While this kinda violates my personal rule of "don't do fan art," I found myself thinking about the setting, and invented a character, then drew that character.

The quick'n'dirty description is that this kid, Mason, was supposed to have been murdered by somebody on a boat, but got away via the +Anima thing, and so he's got a shark form that he can turn into. (I like sharks. Looks awefully similar to that black tip reef shark I did a few times, eh?) Because of the way the Anima thing works, I decided to leave him a bit of human skin in that form.

The little squiggle things in the bottom left are his "markings," that all the +Anima have, symbolizing what they turn into. Those mark gills on either side of his neck.

The medallion thing is a symbol of his family, which I will spare you from the story of.

Any appearance similarity between this character and the real +Anima character Husky are purely coincidental.
