Description
Juturna, mother of Fontus and Roman goddess of wells and springs. At summer's end in ancient Rome citizens celebrated Fontinalia, a tribute to Juturna's son Fontus, by decorating public fountains with garlands of flowers and throwing petals into the waters.
Anna Rudert with little Axel photographed by Tom Clark at Horseshoe Springs. The rose petals you see in the picture are the deal real, showered upon Anna by her husband Chris.

Thank you - I struggled to keep the colors bright in the finish work - the rose petals were so beautiful in the water. I like where it ended up though.

The Source...Waters of Life and Birth...Babies are born with the 'fontanella',an opening at the top of the head, still open, a connection to the Source, in Sages this crack opens at death and the being leaves that way returning to the source.... Rose petals..Roses one of the highest frequencies in the Floral world...you got it all here...Very Inspiring...New Life...

Thank you Sami! I was hoping you'd like her because you were the motivation behind doing her. The moment I saw the word Juturna I knew exactly what image I would choose. It was perfect.
Anna was so amazing in this setting - we had only been there a few moments when she dipped her toe into the water to see how cold it was and slipped and flew out into the pond fully dressed with a HUGE splash. And she came up laughing as her husband and I watched almost in horror. She loved it though and spent the next hour frolicking naked in the springs and having a most wonderful time. One of the images from this shoot is on the back cover of my new book Pantheon.
Like me, Anna is a Scorpio and so the water represents a feeling of being at home and at one. In so many ways your suggestion that there be a goddess of wells and springs was inspired because subconsciously I had already created her - I just needed a context to place her in. My next book is called Storytime and Juturna and her son Fontus already have a place in it.

Awesome. Ity really puts me in mind of some of the work by my favourite artist, John William Waterhouse. I have a large format framed print of his 'Echo and Narcissus' on my wall... and that's what this evokes to my mind.
