Description San Marcos Airport,April,1975. following an inflight hydraulic failure while enroute from BethpageNY to NAS Miramar to deliver a brandy-new F-14 Tomcat to NavAirPac,followed by an emergency landing. a certain RIO {yours truly}met a pretty lady member of Skyhawks Air Service,and two souls became one. after our Cat was repaired by a joint Navy/Grumman crew,it was time to be on our way,but very reluctantly for me! but Duty called,and i felt a terrible sense of loss and lonliness all the rest of the way to the West Coast,and i was informed later by other Skyhawks personnell that she cried herself to sleep that night,and just moped around for days afterwards. pilots/aircrew we may be,but after all,we are still only human.....all turned out OK later tho! pic for my good friend,SD19! {pretty mushy stuff,eh?}

Anytime,Baby!{official motto of the F-14 community} i also have a pic in my gallery of a Vertol helo with an all-girl crew that has compiled an excellent record of rescues/lifesaving. two are members of the original Skyhawks cast,and one is a pretty gal from a popular mechanics cover,July,1972,that i put in as a former Coastie rescue swimmer.

I saw the screen grabs and I now know who Carolyn is now. She's the one with the brown hair. Yes, she looks cool.

There are some times when I want to forget my first crushes. I used to have a crush on one of the Backstreet Boys but I lost interest now. So I still prefer fictional characters.

you and me both! my wife could never hold a candle to Carolyn,Grimhilde7,or Barndance!{or to a Navy friend mentioned in a few of my deviations,who lost her life in the line of duty.}16 Parkside Lane is one of them,along with And I took off to find the Sky. it still hurts to this day.

When I had crushes, my sister used to tease me about them 'cause she wanted to get back at me for teasing her about one of her boyfriends she was dating.

I usually always keep my dreams and ideas to myself 'cause I would feel stupid if I talked about these in public!

not a big deal,some things are really best discussed only with others with the same interests. outsiders would simply not understand/comprehend,and are really not worth wasting your time/life-force energy on anyway. been there/done that/crashed/burned.

True. I've been there too when I was in 5th grade through Freshman year. I was the laughing stock of the whole class!

I have gotten better over the years and I did very well in High School. But there are some people who (after graduating) lose their lives. My mother and I had classmates that were killed in accidents or by using drugs and there was this guy who was in my chorus class who went swimming in a river and drowned.

I'm glad it wasn't me, my family or my friends. To surprise you, I haven't been to college yet but I'm thinking about it. I'm still sitting at home and living with my parents and I look forward to getting a job and traveling the United States. Good luck to your son.

OOh - so it is, men and loyality - having the wife at home and the first crush in the head.. in moments like those I am more than happy to be single !! What we say - eh typical ?

An old saying here is: One may get appetite from somewhere else, but you have your food at home.

While I say, if the food at home isn't tempting anymore it's time to change the cook !! All or nothing, with whome mind and body or not at all it is here - let others play the games, here all is serious, no games in the sandpit.
