The B-24J that is now flying as Witchcraft was briefly painted as The Dragon And His Tail, extreme nose art and all. I guess modern views caught up the bomber because now it has a witch rididng a bomb on it's nose.

sure was! a USAAF B-24 bomber back in 1944! took "nose art" to a real extreme!

muddy,back then,those guys got away with murder! nowadays,it just wouldn,t FLY! to this day,there are pics of ww2 noseart that were so outrageous/obscene that the USAF will not release them for public consuption! Navy was by the book,did not permit personal deco on planes,but Army would "look the other way",figured it was a good morale booster for crews who might just get killed soon anyway.
