Pencils: Ryan StegmanInks: Me
Colours: Here: [link]
I was commissioned by James to ink Ryan's lines, adding a bit of definition and a few tweaks. Not quite a finishes job, but a bit more than I'd normally do on a normally inked page - thankfully had the pre-approval of both penciller and inker, so I let rip!
Had a TON of fun working over Ryan's lines and Sean knocked the colours out of the park on this one, go check em out!

Great job! there are things that I like and dislike about both. One of the things that I really love about your inks is that you streamlined the weapons and added another weapon to the girl on the left side, you really made them more realistic and clean. On the main character I like you inks better and can see how flatting and coloring it would be easier in your version. The main thing I like about ryans is the detail in the girls' faces. Either way I give major kudos to both of you.

Thanks a lot dude! I did my best to tidy the lifework as I went, whilst still keeping the energy of Ryan's lines - was a tough job to do justice to his great work!

Killer work, man. One of those tough challenges out there to take something that's good already and make it better.

Cheers BD! I'm working on another 'finishes' style page at the mo, will post it up once I've finished..(and hopefully not massacred it!)

the biggest problem with Ryan's inks (which I had started to flat origianlly) was all the smutz and dirt that was visible in the high res and the overall poor edge quality of the lines themselves. I was spending half my time cleaning up the inks rather than doing the colours. With Tom's inks I had the entire thing flatted inside of 2 hours and had it coloured by the next night.

Cheers Sean! I think Ryan had originally inked the page with a looser drybrush style, which I can imagine made making crisp lasso selections under the lines for the flats a nightmare!
