This is a shot of Caitlin from the June 9 workshop. She is new to modelling and has only posed at my workshops. However each time she poses she comes in with a trust for the process and a genuine excitement for being photographed. This trust and excitement is contagious and has me and the other photographers feel trusted and excited. From this space we become deeply connected to our creative ability. When this happens as it did at this workshop the resultant photos are truly empowering. I think in life one of the greatest restrictions on humans experiencing joy and fulfillment is our lack of trust. We are so conditioned to protect and compete that we pressure each other to feel like we are not trusted and need to prove ourselves. This then has us lose our ability to be creative and free. I hope that images like this one of Caitlin will inspire others to be less rigid in their pre conceived mind set of protecting themselves from others.www.leapoffaith.com.au

When I go to the figure drawing marathons held every few months at a near-by space- the difference in my drawings hang on the model...the energy they bring influences the artists, & when the artists realise the gift they have in front of them, it feeds back to the model. It always feels a little disappointing when the model's two hours are up, not in a dis-satisfaction sort of way, but like someone's pulled the plug on the energy in the room. With luck, the next model revives it.
(The marathons are 12 hours of drawing, models changing out every 2 hours)
Caitlin brims with energy & beauty (you can see that in the pic)- what a gift to have her be your model!

I so agree. I have seen many drawings and paintings that lack inspiration because the model's energy was robotic or just doing it as a job. Caitlin really does have a passion for what we are doing at these workshops and it can be clearly felt in the shots.

I think that when a person is trusting and relaxed that they don't need photoshop as their features are at their best. It is when models are fearing the result of the camera click that they look unattractive.
