Description The Aethernauts.
I was looking at an illustration in mutantsandmasterminds  cosmic handbook  and I thought to myself, that's an expy of the starjammers . When I saw the platypus with a gun I realized it was actually the guardiansofthegalaxy  And I was surprised the archetypes lined up. I looked at the Micronauts  (Marvel  and image), farscape , and even the original Star Wars lineup and realized a basic 4-5 member space pirate team has some pretty common basic archetypes. The first four are pretty solid, with the fifth member being a bit more wide ranging.

1. Leader. frequently from Earth (or our time period, if the story is in the future), frequently the least powerful. (Corsair, Star Lord, Crichton, Arcturus Rann)

2. Female Warrior. Far more competent than fish-out-of-water leader, usually, is also dangerous and the best fighter on the team. Possibly a love interest for the leader, and someone the leader needs to reel in from darker deeds.(Hepzibah, Gamora, Aeryn Sun, Marionette)

3. Big alien. The other fighter, is usually a larger alien species, and a big brawler. Brings Brute Force to the team, even if not as good a pure warrior as the Warrior Woman. (Ch'od, Groot, Ka D'Argo, Acroyear.)

4. Wildcard specialist. Usually an alien, a cyborg, a small rodent, or all of the above. Specialties include thief, tech, weapons or some other sometimes useful field of expertise. (Raza, Rocket Raccoon (not a rodent), Chiana, Bug.)

5. This one is more wide ranging when there's a fifth member. Could repeat one of the first four, or could be a non-combatant specialist of some kind (from healing to acquisitions).

6- pet/droids. From Ch'od's pet c'ree to c3po and microtron, a hanger on second tier character.

This is my take on the team tropes of the space pirate/rebel team.
