Tigra + Crimson Fox

Greer D'Aramis and her twin sister Vivian were heiresses to a perfume fortune. Greer was content to work on the board of the company, but Vivian sought more adventure. Working with Dr. Kitty Tumolo at Project S.T.A.R., Vivian helped design a suit that would increase her strength and agility, and with her knowledge of perfumes and chemistry, was able to design pheremone delivery systems in the costume giving her the ability, in some cases, to end a conflict non-violently. Although Tumolo discovered her financial backer, Malcolm Lord had secretly devised a mindcontrol device set in the suits helmet that would enable him to control Vivian as a personal enforcer. Dr. Tumolo revealed the deception to Vivian, though Lord arranged an explosive death for the scientist. After removing the device, Vivian, as the Fox, brought Malcolm Lord to justice. Dr. Tumolo seemingly miraculously survived with severe injuries, to be sure, but was going to recover.

Greer was surprised to discover her sister's double life as the Fox, when Vivian saved her from an armed assault. Unfortunately, Vivian died in Greer's arms from gunshot wounds. Greer, oddly, decided to honor her sister's sense of adventure and justice and donned the costume herself, continuing the legacy of the Fox.

Long ago, in Asia, a race of Fox people existed, and their legendary protector was the Kitsune. Evil Sorceror's banished the Fox people to a hellish dimension. Dr. Kitty Tumolo turned out to be one of these legendary Kitsune. She was the villain known as Rabid, a massively powerful jackal headed abomination of her true self. Malcolm Lord had secretly created her, and it was this past mind-control experience that helped Kitty discover the secret in the Fox costume.

After Greer took over as the Fox, she and Dr. Tumolo met, and Dr. Tumolo continued to assist Greer as the Fox. At First, Greer sought to mislead the scientist into thinking she was Vivian, but Dr. Tumolo eventually saw through the deception and learned that Vivian had died. Eventually, the Cult of the Hydra discovered Dr. Tumolo's true nature and attempted to abduct her to find the land of the Fox people. Lead by Agent Puanteur, the Hydra cultists grabbed Tumolo from where she was pretending to be recovering from her injuries.

Greer intervened. She saved the Doctor, but like her sister, sustained fatal damage during the attempt. But unlike with Vivian, Dr. Tumolo was by Greer's side as she lay dying, and took her to the Fox people. She begged for the fox people to save Greer's life as a reward. She offered her abilities as Kitsune, which she could not use anyway due to Malcolm Lord's manipulation. So the Fox People took the mystic powers of the Kitsune from Dr. Tumolo and transferred them to Greer D'Aramis. Greer became a fox person in reality, not simply in costume. Though she was given a mystic amulet (shaped like a fox head) that would allow her to transform back to her human self, eventually Greer became so accustomed to her fox form she remained.

She later fought a takeover of her company, as the board tried to present the argument that Greer was no longer fit to lead in her fox form and its seeming personality changes. But the personality change was merely Greer feeling unencumbered by her mundanity and welcoming the more outgoing nature of a fox person. She did eventually sell her shares for a lot of money, and moved to the West Coast of America where she joined the Justice League Avengers: West Coast.

Meta Backstory: Not much here. Just filling out some more WACos/JLI. It took a while to settle on who Tigra would amalgam with. I visited Crimson Fox before, but man... I did not like the character. The sexual attraction pheremones, the death of the twins...the fact that they were twins... but other than a brief time thinking of Vixen and some off the wall ideas like Dr. Light or Barda... I circled back around to Crimson Fox because I had already thought of the name and the look. So I decided to work in the Twin Perfume company owners into the origin and I found some stuff that worked well.
