drew a wonderful image of heartbroken Birdie, which really just made me recall how incredibly awkward I imagine Basil must be around such a display of emotions...Related content

You are literally make me cry, jump up and down, laugh hysterically and stare till my eyes turn red - all the time you draw a gift art for me.
Seriously, this sketchy made me so happy, just when I needed it. Thankyou for that, no words can express my gratitude
I mean, look at this.
Birdie looks just so... adorable in your style.
You give my OC so much body, more than I myself am able to.
You constantly inspire me~~
I just adore the emotions you've put in here. Look at how Birdie is holding her hands, with just a few lines you can draw an explosion of emotions, that pierce right throught the heart.
I really envy this talent of yours <333
Her fur looks so cute too!
And Basil, ah... he looks so handsome yet so fragile here.
He always looks amazing in your style, and I just love how you drew this wonderful character in your style, next to my OC.
It really means a lot that you explore the interaction between Birdie & Basil here.
I'm always somewhat scared when I upload some more romantic artwork of these two, because I don't want to make Birdie a clicheed excuse of a OC.
You certainly don't have this problem, you bring out the best of Birdie
I just... love this thing to pieces. It has conquered a place in my heart.
I even put it as my laptop wallpaper, so I can stare at this for eternity!
Thank you, so much, more than all complimenting words together can express.
Thankyouthankyouthankyou I ADORE YOUR FACE

All right *breaking knuckles* Here goes the reply
This is merely just a crude sketch woman, and you give it WAY too much praise Don't think I don't adore you for it! I DO, and it only makes scribbling for you so much more rewarding.
As I've said a MILLION times before I adore Birdie, and she is a lot of fun to draw - the more I get to know her the more I adore her, plain and simple. Basil is always so tricky for me to draw, and I really just need to keep practising, and hey, if I can involve OCs I am more than happy - AAAAAAND Birdie is such an excellent victim
And hey, if you're afraid of uploading romantic pieces with these two, then rest assure that I DON'T

I often wonder, to what degree of sorrow, could Basil actually handle. I'd like to think he'd pass them a handkerchief, tap their shoulder, and naturally keep a safe distance.
This is a nice little sketch here, THT.

I imagine him incredibly uncomfortable with it - Something I myself can completely and utterly relate to. Although according to the movie he can turn on the empathic aspect, with his interactions with Olivia, and especially, Dawson

Exactly. There's an internal battle he's got going on, where he doesn't know how to react to outside emotions. He's like part machine inside, always thinking of solving things, pushing away anything that won't help him in his cases. Crying doesn't help solve cases, it helps to relieve pain, and he's not used to that. In the film, yes, he sees he upset Dawson and tries to comfort him in the best way that he can.
