I used to be a really into the idea of these two together, before I stopped caring about pairings and stuff like that altogether. But they do have things going for them, especially in the 80s period. They have very similar personalities, and Β also worked well together as the only human members of the gang for two shows. In those shows, you see them meeting each other's parents, dancing together at a masquerade ball, and even sharing a cute hug in the 13 Ghosts series. I don't know if I'd say H-B had any intention on pairing them together, but if I had to choose which Scooby couple I prefer, it would be these two.

That sounds ADORABLE, and I might have to find them, so I can work out their relationship out from that series
I like the idea of these two together, granted that they get the chance. I positively believe it would work.

I'm sure you can find episodes online for the most part. There's a few notable moments I can point out, if you're really interested.
The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show (first season): They visit Daphne's parents in "No Thanks, Masked Manx" and share a dance together; Shaggy actually concocts a plan of rescue after Daphne and Scrappy get kidnapped in "Scooby the Barberian" (though, to my memory, they managed to get out by themselves...); they visit their old high school called Central High in "The Crazy Carnival Caper" (Fred and Velma weren't around, so I guess they were too busy with their careers); they also go to the wedding of Shaggy's sister in "Wedding Bell Boos!".
The second season got a title change, The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries. Fred and Velma would appear occasionally, sometimes together and sometimes separately. From what the season tells us, the gang separated on good terms with Fred as a mystery writer, Velma as a NASA research scientist. Daphne was a reporter, and I guess Shaggy just did odd jobs when it was just him and the Doos until Daphne returned and he started working with her. Of course, Zombie Island kinda ret-conned all this.
Oh! And there's an episode of the original show where Daphne made Shaggy a "Shaggy Snack" called "Never Ape an Ape Man", and she does it again in "Wedding Bell Boos!". Cute gesture and a nice nod at continuity.

I read somewhere, that Hanna-Babera originally wanted them paired up, subtlety, but WB preferred to pair up Fred and Daphne. No idea if its' true or not, but I much prefer these two less boring couple

I REALLY need to figure out their tattoo-designs... I like Daphnes though - it's suppose to be a rank of daphne-flowers, but Shaggys I'm not sure of. I want it to relate to something of his, and I had first thought about something Scooby-Doo-related or food-related. But it has to be something I can draw everytime, without any bigger problems
