So, the first fanart was a bit of a comedy. Second one was more of horror/sci-fi. This one's theme is more of a melo-drama...Done in Photoshop... about an hour sketch work...

You got this DOWN to a T! You've captured him in a moment of frustration and also Penny just looks like she doesn't know what to do, should she approach him knowing how is right now or just leave him even though she is clearly upset for him. Love this!

It reminds me very much of my novella 'EuroGadget', which is a more serious side of the Gadget story.

Personally I love the emotion and how it's made manifest in such a simple arrangement.
It's been said that comedians are at heart very brooding and serious individuals. This piece would be a pretty good poster for that sentiment.

Amazing stuff! Watching the show on old videos when I was younger gave me one view on the show, which was what was intended to show. But now I've grown up, I would love to see DIC make a much darker version as well as the truth behind his origon.
I love this drawing, as it's the sort of thing I would love to see. Well done on the detail and emotion.

Amazing work. <3 Most everyone forgets that Gadget is no longer of flesh and blood. At least not for the majority. And I'm quite sure that once all of his work is all said and done, this being a very brief period of time I'm sure, everything sort of weighs on him all at once. Great concept, awesome technical work.

Ohman... that is an awesome cyborg design. There is no question in my mind that that could function. It's nice to see Gadget done as a practical looking robot-thing, I mean who needs mallets sprouting out of your skull when you have metal fists?
The picture feels very much like a quiet, private breakdown. Poor Gadget.

I don't know what I could say that hasn't already been said before. The idea itself is beautifully haunting, which is an interesting spin on such a kid-oriented classic cartoon (one I didn't watch nearly as much as many others my age). I don't remember caring too much for the show back then aside occasional giggles and the overall silliness, but thinking back on its concept gets one thinking how the show could have been done differently, and this is a picture-perfect example of how it could be redone right. As two or three other comments before said, it would make an incredibly awesome premise for a show directed at Inspector Gadget's original fans who have already grown up.
Stunning, really, and the rest of your art (aside the old cartoon homages) is incredible too. I'd come across your work once by accident, and it was foolish to have failed to Watch you... a mistake I'm remedying right now. XD

I remember very few episodes of this show seeing as how I was quite young and I'm one of those people who don't remember their past at all...
But! I remember loving this show more than anything except for those shows that were made for kids who were like 8 and 9 and I was like 3 so I didn't understand them but I watched them anyway.
MY POINT!! *gets sidetracked a lot* I don't remember all of the show, and I only remember that Gadget said some really stupid things now that I think about it. I barely remember his personality at all. But I was browsing through your gallery (and you have some VERY entertaining stuff, my dear man), and I noticed you did a parody of AD with Inspector Gadget. That amused me to no extent. I decided to look at the other IG stuff you do, and I really liked this one.
I liked it because you made a dark side to Gadget, and normally, people like the sides of people that don't really have much emphasis. I tend to enjoy that part, too. I remember GO GO GADGET CHOPPER or GO GO GADGET INSERT REALLY LAME...GADGET. I imagine that it must've been hard for him since he was mostly a machine. It must've been quite confusing to not know if you were a human, a machine, or a bioandroid with no idea what you were made for so you have to go through a 30 episode series with a very rushed ending :/ (You might not get the joke.) The point is, Gadget must've really been going through some tough shi--stuff throughout his whole life ever since he got the surgery for all those gadgets
I don't even remember why he got the surgery to begin with.
BUT I RAMBLE!! The point is I really enjoy this drawing because it explains a side of a character I barely remember, but I remember him being dim-witted (or at least acting like it; you can't have a dumbass know about all those gadgets that he had) and not having any drama at all. I, as a girl, enjoy drama, sooo...
I really like this. Had to go through a whole HUGE pointless speech about it, but I like it. (Nowww you can probably not respond to this because I was basically saying pointless things that I had to keep coming back to cuz I'm all OMG INTERNETZZZZ *fast typing*)

that is just awsome. It really radiates emotion. From Gadget's slouching over the sink staring at the reflection of his mechanical body, to the expression in his eyes, to penny crying as she sees her Uncle go through such a personality crisis. Its really good.
and about the show taking a darker turn, there IS a new Gadget cartoon scheduled for 2009, ansd it says it will take the same comedy and stuff that made the original series' but also with a darker edge, leaning more twoards anime, and who knows, with Almost all superheroes going through exostensial breakdowns at one point or other, maybe we will see Gadget like this.

I have to hope they decide to put a darker edge to his bouncy character. I'd love to see a much darker, more grown up version of him where we find the truth behind his change (as other then the 1999 movie I'm sure they've never mentioned how/why he was changed. He wasn't born like it, was he? O_O) and how he really copes with it. It's the reason I adore all the darker art of IG on da. It's what I would love to see been made. Take a hint DIC, you have fans wanting it!

well, its always been because of some "accident" before the events of the series. the movie explored that. what i want to see, is how he goes through life, I mean, living everyday like like that must not have been easy for him at all.

Same. That's the biggest reason I love the movie, the looking into the 'accident' to becoming who he became. They should just make a animated movie (dark or normal, both would be equally good) and explain it and how he became accepted and accepted who he became.
