Description
So, the first fanart was a bit of a comedy. Second one was more of horror/sci-fi. This one's theme is more of a melo-drama...Done in Photoshop... about an hour sketch work...

If Inspector Gadget had been written with that sort of spin, I would of loved it!
I couldn't stand that show when I was younger, but you just made me do a 360. How does it feel to be that good?

This tells a completely different side of the story than the stuff in the cartoon.
On the one hand, he's a goofy, laid-back guy who solves crimes but has lots of fun in life.
On the other hand, the dude is a human Swiss Army Knife, and he has dealt with more surgery than most supermodels do.
Must be tough living like that, though. I imagine he'd have a hard time showering with all those wires and whatnot.

X'D awesome...man, if that aweful movie would have been like this, that would have been awesome, i mean most of the kids who'd watched it woulda grown up by now right? it could be like that transformers vs G.I joe that dreamwave did that was set in world war II, so dark and gritty (and they only really god book they ever did X'D)
this drawings is really cool the compation is really nice, the uber detail on gadget is extremely cool it actually looks like where would be a ton of stuff waiting to pop out of him and cause mayhem ,as well as all the little details around the bathroom, which make it seem more like an actual bathroom, and less like a random wall with a sink in it. great job over all yo

That's awesome. We always see Gadget as a goof-ball, comically inept police officer who somehow manages to bungle through assignments with the help of his niece and her dog, but we never think about the real issues of having your body re-built into a elaborate swiss army knife.

Torokun teacher, wanted to request permission to be able uses his work in fan comic that I am going to make on Gadget/Teenage Inspector Robot (a cartoon of NIckelodeon) in this comic Penny (the Young person of Gadget&The Gadgetinis) travels the time of the MLaaTR series. this drawing was the one that I am inspired by the personnel to make comic which I mention, hits to me as I catch the drama of the situation that lives Gadget like a Cyborgβ¦ its expression and their face (no longer the one of cartoon, but in realistic style that you I place to him) is magnificentβ¦
I hope by all means of its authorization and that mencionaria its responsibility, hoping not to bother itself I take leave hoping to count on its permission.

Thomas,
I don't own Gadget. So, you can do whatever you want with him as a "fanart".
Technically speaking, whoever owns Gadget can go after any "fanart". But, I think it falls under parody. So you should be fine.

Recently, I've been in a nostalgic mood, so I've been searching out lots of Inspector Gadget stuff. I'm more than delighted to see this because even when I watched the show way back when, I always wondered what it was like for Gadget and what he looked like underneath the coat. THANK YOU for answering that old question for me, and beautifully too. This is amazing. And like everyone else before me has said, it gives more depth to the good Inspector. I mean, after all, he *is* still human under all those metal parts and springs.
This makes me love that old show even more. I must poke around your gallery now, too.

There is something very creepy and sad in this picture and I mean it in a good way. Great work, especially when that kind of emotions is difficult to get from such a not-angsty character.

It's absolutely beautiful. Inspector Gadget was clumsy and sometimes even a total dork, but being a kids' cartoon we couldn't know if he had a more serious side. After all, even as a little girl (I watched Gadget when I was no more than four-five years old) I couldn't help but think: "Doesn't Gadget feel different? How can he be so happy go lucky in that state? I can't believe he never thinks about being normal". I'm not a fan of too serious cartoons, I love comedy, but it would be great to see a Gadget series with a little character development. I don't want him to be portraited as a desperate angsty man, just his normal self but with some, I don't know, "personality issues"? Some depth. Also for Doctor Claw.

"but being a kids' cartoon we couldn't know if he had a more serious side"
Some shows that were thought of as for younger ones had depth (ex: The Muppets--in particular, the Fraggles--many of the Disney Afternoon series, both the Nicktoons of Rugrats & Hey Arnold, etc.).

That's true, but although all of the shows you mentioned can be viewed with no problems by little children, I think most of them were thought out for the 8 to 12 ages, I think.
I mean, Inspector Gadget is probably a show for very young children, since it's based on a basic structure (baddies do bad stuff -> police contacts Gadget -> He fails at life -> Penny solves everything -> Gedget is a hero, Claw escapes) and never goes far from it. It's kind of difficult to develop real stories if you go on Scooby-Doo style, changing the crime and the way Gadget messes up and nothing else ._.
Beware, nothing of what I'm saying is FACT, I'm just giving my two cents on the matter. It could just be that the shows you mentioned are better written than Inspector Gadget, but I doubt that's the case. I think Inspector Gadget was a simple, but well done cartoon o:

I think most of them were thought out for the 8 to 12 ages, I think.
Actually, for Jim & Craig, the stuff they put out is universal & for everyone, incorporating many aspects no modern kid's show would tackle without making them overt & shallow (ex: death via the passing of Mr. Hooper & the constant threats to extinction as it pertains to the delicate Fraggle Rock ecosystem; a horrible home life via Helga's neglectful & drunken parents & an over-acheiving sister who treats Helga like an infant; Helga herself being rather horny for a supposed 9 year old 4th-grader ["You make my girlhood tremble."--Helga's Parrot, "If only our...very beings could so violently entangle."--Grudge Match, her sleepwalking to end up naked in her beloved's shower, the fact that she has a makeshift bubblegum shrine to the object of her affections in her room that she sometimes makes out with, & the fact that she's been infatuated with this boy whom she's the resident tsundere towards ever since preschool]; Pidgeon Man's departure as a metaphor for both the Massiah as well as a reference to Icarus of Greek myth or even possible hints to suicide; Arnold being the moral center of his neighborhood full of somewhat crazy people, despite being a child; Greaser Frankie crossing the line between being cool like John Travolta or Henry Wrinkler into simply being unsettlingly disturbing when he tries to seduce Arnold into his unscruplous gang of easily-identified robbers & potential rapists; the undertones of Sid & Stinky as the Lenny & Carl of their little group; Curly being an outright psychopath; Stalkerism being presented but forgiven due to the character ages & the basis for much of said stalking [Helga loves Arnold, Brainy loves Helga, & Curly...well..he's just Curly & lusts after "rich bitch" Rhonda for whatever sick reason he's concocted in his mind]; the inter-faith relations found & embraced in Rugrats; Angelica being a classic case of how you're better off with the devil you know, especially if said devil is often-times merely simply a jerkass tsundere with a heart of gold underneath the bully exterior who longs to be loved despite her inherent meaniness; etc.).
