Quicky Design of PSP2.0I found out at the end of the day the Kotaku was running unofficial design challenge of next PSP.
Spent couple of hours on it... so it's pretty rough...
Also, I wish i had a 3D program. it would have looked better rendered...
*IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
-I HAD NO IDEA THIS IMAGE WOULD DRAW OVER 15,000 PEOPLE IN ONE DAY... FOR THAT MATTER IT REALLY MADE THE CONTEST SUPER UNFAIR. I USUALLY GET COUPLE HUNDRED VIEWS PER DAY. SO I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T UPSET THE VOTE THAT MUCH... BUT THIS LITTLE REQUEST OF MINE MUDDLED THE GOOD SPORT OF FAIR GAME OF CONTEST. I AM ASKING TO HAVE MY ENTRY TAKEN OFF SINCE I INADVERTENTLY BECAME A CHEATER. But you can enjoy the design here...
I DO SUPER APPRECIATE ALL YOUR COMMENT THOUGH. I will try to compile the thoughts behind this design soon. It will address a lot of comments you are making.

nice design but when you look at the handy which such a function you see that they go just out the half size or even less so everything which goes more out then this would be instable i think. and the protection cover have to be indluded on the non open design too...anyway i would buy it

It's not cheating if people like what you do. It's marketing yourself. Asking for failure when you succeed is only cheating yourself. Honestly, it's a really good design, and I think you should work in the concept department of a company that designs awesome things!!

i love the idea of multi-touch screen, and the camera (although in a different place would be nice), and the sliding control unit... it is genius... but to me its a little bulky, but i'll still buy it... wish you luck that they choose your prototype for the next psp project

Awww... I wanted a something like a DSi combined with a PSP. I'd call it the DSP! But if it has a phone...

And will the PSP 2.0 have a REAL touchscreen, like the DS? The DS will respond to any physical object touching the screen, but other devices such as the iPhone have fake touchscreens that react to the heat from a person's finger. They're technically not touch sensitive at all, and...

I do not like the heat sensitive screens, because I have very poor circulation. I had to get a completely different computer because of the fact that the trackpad wouldn't detect my cold fingers.

Totally awesome design, though I do think that the sliding function doesn't take into account the buttons that would hinder the action. Maybe if it was more of a down, out and lock into place kind of thing it would work(just a suggestion).
Oh oh! And while I'm giving out my opinion, I'd say go for some sort of video chat function instead of just phone since you're including the camera anyway and maybe throw in a more interactive multiplayer system while you're at it (if you're gonna go for a second draft that is lol).
But, yeah, anywho, I'd buy it. XD

I love this design. I wouldn't mind if they made a new psp using this design. I hate that stupid "Go" or whatever it's called.
