Quicky Design of PSP2.0I found out at the end of the day the Kotaku was running unofficial design challenge of next PSP.
Spent couple of hours on it... so it's pretty rough...
Also, I wish i had a 3D program. it would have looked better rendered...
*IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
-I HAD NO IDEA THIS IMAGE WOULD DRAW OVER 15,000 PEOPLE IN ONE DAY... FOR THAT MATTER IT REALLY MADE THE CONTEST SUPER UNFAIR. I USUALLY GET COUPLE HUNDRED VIEWS PER DAY. SO I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T UPSET THE VOTE THAT MUCH... BUT THIS LITTLE REQUEST OF MINE MUDDLED THE GOOD SPORT OF FAIR GAME OF CONTEST. I AM ASKING TO HAVE MY ENTRY TAKEN OFF SINCE I INADVERTENTLY BECAME A CHEATER. But you can enjoy the design here...
I DO SUPER APPRECIATE ALL YOUR COMMENT THOUGH. I will try to compile the thoughts behind this design soon. It will address a lot of comments you are making.

great design but i would find the legth of it when you pull the controls out pretty awkward. also the touch screen functions would be awsome, and the cam would but better

i understand why you would like to be able to use a 3d graphics program to render this, but i thought the artful style you used really made it look like as a concept drawing on a visual board for people to start off as in a business meeting. pretty cool

You shouldn't have pulled out. This design is great! And in the end that's really the point to make a great design that may get picked by Sony.
That aside the design is amazing, impressive work and to be honest it got that much attention because it looked official.

Oh it looks wonderful! So much better than that annoying pspGO. This looks really cool and //really// functional. If this is what the new psp would look like, I'd totally buy it.

I suggest some kind of spring loaded popup for the cover on the back when it is opened... this could act as the locking mechanism and could simply be pushed back in to close it.

You forgot to mention some important facts about it.
Does it have internet capability?
How many gigabytes of memory does it have?
Can I download games onto it?
You know, the basics.
I especially would like to know how long the battery life on this thing is, and if it's batteries are rechargable.
Because I would HATE having to constantly change out batteries on this thing.

very nice design, but what would concern me the most is the slide parts, they tend to wear down or break after a while which may cause it to cease function after a lot of use.

those back lids look pretty fragile to me, without the protective cover that is.
