long time ago after find all the old files and reimport to the new udk.Here is the first result of better lighting :
the model is based of the concept from Patrick Reinemann!

What techniques/tools did you use to to get believable randomized ground textures. Is it something you did in UDK? I've heard of something in Unity called vector painting. Same thing?

Hi phattyartist for the ground I use a normal titable diffuse texture, and for more bumpiness and variety using sperate stones models.

Very good. It's got an almost retro feel about it.
