Description
This tutorial is for those who have not used the Gradient Map function of Photoshop before. I use Photoshop Elements 7.0, so other versions might have it different.1. Create a new project on photoshop
2. Use Filter>Render>Cloud
3. After creating the cloud, use Enhance>Auto Contrast and Enhance>Auto Levels.
5. Open Filter>Adjustments>Gradient Map, and open the gradient editor.
4. If you have the colors selected, copy their codes so you can add them to your gradient.
6. Copy the color codes, adjust the slides as you see fit, using preview, so you can tell when you got it right.
7. Once you are pleased with the color scheme(s), save the gradient(s) with the appropriate button.

Wherever auto contrast can be found. Use that. surely you have some means of adjusting contrast?
