Its here... fall. Fall and the amazing hues that accompany it. Its my favorite season. Football, comfortable temperatures, hunting, and the colors.I've been looking for a shot like this for awhile, but as simple as a shot it seems, good conditions are hard to find. The shot I wanted needed to have both clouds and blue sky. For this one the sun had just broken through some low hanging storm clouds to give the shadowy light you see.
Canon 5D. 17-40mm. No filters.

Thanks for your interest in my work, but my images are not stock. Unfortnately I've had my images stolen and this is about the max size I'm willing to go. Is it too pixelated to download at the current size? Hopefully that doesn't come off as mean-spirited, I really appreciate your interest.

I think the reason I love and respect you so much as an artist, is that your photos leave me so utterly and completely breathless.
Part of it is luck...I'm so envious that you're around such beautiful and natural parts of the environment. In Texas, nobody really seems to care about natural features as much...they're just paved over.
But your eyes are absolutely fantastic, like with this one.

may I ask if this is an HDR? I've struggled getting a shot like this straight out of the camera.

Sure, its not HDR. This was outta the camera. The full-frame on the 5D makes a huge difference and my new 17-40mm is amazing too, but the lighting on this evening was perfect for this type of shot. I had been trying for a shot like this for awhile before this one and finally the conditions were right. I added a bit of saturation post-processing too.

Looks great, mine always have either an over exposed sky or an underexposed tree(s). You've given me hope now haha

haha, thanks man. I had the settings on Av priority so the camera did the exposure work for me. I just had to set the ISO a bit higher to get a quicker shutter speed.
