^.^ I have no complaints here. I especially love the way the characters are drawn. Colors awesome, too! looks just like the Graphic Novels/Comics.

Can't wait for part 2!

Ugh, I'm trying to like this one ... but something about it just doesn't do it for me. Sorry, guys. Good job on it though, look forward to reading part two to get the 'full' experience of the story.

I'm not really feeling it either to be honest. The story is really brief and doesn't tell anything. It remains to be seen if this is just a one page story stretched over three parts. Personally if something is a multiparter, I'd prefer it to be more like the Breakdown one, where each part was a completely self sufficient story but it gained more by being linked to others, rather than one where the story is just stretched out over three pages. I'm trying to be helpful, I hope you don't take offence at that!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Blueshift2k5 [2009-12-22 00:46:30 +0000 UTC]

It's two parts, actually. Hopefully the second half will clear everything up. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Blueshift2k5 In reply to xxsomeoneelsexx [2009-12-22 13:57:34 +0000 UTC]

It is a good effort though. One important thing is to signpost. I was assuming it was Earth and that Starscream was betraying everyone, but then you said it wasn't Earth, which relegates this to just 'Starscream and Jetfire on a boring day job' which is a bit less interesting for one page.

Also never assume everyone knows who every character is (heck, I thought Jetfire was Stratosphere, but that's the movie designs for you!). Each character needs to be named at least once in the page, so there's your challenge!

RazzieMbessai In reply to Blueshift2k5 [2009-12-22 20:21:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for all the feedback, this is the first time I've drawn a Mosaic so it's awesome to hear what I did wrong just as much as what I did right

I gave Jetfire my own Cybertronian design, so apologies for the Stratosphere confusion

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Blueshift2k5 [2009-12-22 17:53:29 +0000 UTC]

Heh, I suppose that's what I get for saying the Outer Arm of the galaxy and just banking on everyone knowing that Earth is in the Orion Arm.

And I hear you on the movie designs. They can be really confusing-- especially since Jetfire here is Razzie's own redesign. Starscream is pretty much straight out of "Reign of Starscream" though, thought that would help. The second half does have more names in it, phew!

Thanks again for the feedback, it helps.

Argusshaitan [2009-12-21 09:29:26 +0000 UTC]

Not feeling it. Both the timeline and the age for both characters as given in the movieverse contradict this.

If it wasn't for the color I'd never have even recognised SS btw.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Argusshaitan [2009-12-22 01:18:00 +0000 UTC]

Were either of them ever given an age in canon? The timescale is something that came completely from my head, but if I knew either characters' age from canon I would have used it. Do you know anywhere I can find their ages?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Argusshaitan In reply to xxsomeoneelsexx [2009-12-22 09:57:24 +0000 UTC]

We know from tales of the Fallen that Jetfire is active during the Dynasty time. We also know that the Dynasty time is a time of legend for the current bots from the movie prequels.

Hence them meeting can never happen. We also know humans are around at first contact time so we're talking 150.000 years ago max and probably a lot more recent for Jetfire landing on Earth.

It's been noted before that the movie-verse bots are nowehere near as ancient as the bots we all know and love in G1.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Argusshaitan [2009-12-22 18:01:16 +0000 UTC]

I think you're assuming this is Earth. (That's what I get for just saying "the Outer Arm" and banking that everyone knows Earth is in the Orion Arm. My bad.) It's a completely different system, which is why the timescale is so different.

Where was it noted? I remember reading somewhere- I think in the prequel comics to the first movie- that five million years passed between the battle of Tyger Pax (when everyone left) and the Autobots' arrival on Earth, so I decided on a timescale of millions of years.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Argusshaitan In reply to xxsomeoneelsexx [2009-12-24 13:05:58 +0000 UTC]

Earth is generally refered to as being in (one of) the outer arms so that's not really saying all that much.

Defiance has Screamer as a part of the military in a time when the fallen is dug up and rediscovered by Megatron.

Tales of the Fallen 3 has Jetfire in the Dynastic times being one of the first of the first age of Decepticons (Megatron and Starscream being the second age)
Perhaps even THE first as all the constructions there seem to be drones... At least the text refers to them as construction drones.

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Argusshaitan [2009-12-27 21:44:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, if you think about it, every arm in a spiral galaxy is an "outer" arm (and also an inner arm!) so I went with what Wikipedia said.

I have Defiance, and was somewhat frustrated that it didn't give any actual numbers, just "many many years ago." Could be thousands, millions, even billions. If you know of someplace in canon where they mention just how old Jetfire or Starscream is in numbers, I'd like to hear about that plz.

Blueshift2k5 In reply to xxsomeoneelsexx [2009-12-22 19:53:48 +0000 UTC]

ROTF pretty much ignores all that, since the timescale in there is that the ancient time of Transformer myth and legend is 150,000 years ago (in the film's beginning)

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Blueshift2k5 [2009-12-23 01:34:17 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, Bay sure did his homework to make sure canon didn't contradict itself, eh? Lemme tell ya, I wouldn't have tossed canon timescales out the window and put in my own in any other universe. Most of them have timelines that at least sort of make sense.

xxsomeoneelsexx In reply to Swift117 [2009-12-22 00:43:42 +0000 UTC]

This is a system in an entirely different arm of the galaxy, actually. Our planet has had life for... eh, can't remember, but it's been billions of years.

Thanks, there's another half on its way! And this is actually a reduced timescale than the original. XD

Actually that was before the Dinosaurs...The greatest Mass Extinction in History, between Permian and Triassic.
Although, doesn't that Harvester thing completely destroy the sun?

Was the harvester ever working? Or it was just planned to set on work later? I ll rewatch the ROTF next week, with friends...

Thanks for correction! Yay for fellow closet-prehistorian here!

MugenSeiRyuu In reply to Swift117 [2009-12-21 21:53:33 +0000 UTC]

I don't think the one on earth was ever used. According to the descriptions it would however completely destroy a sun, so that would cause way more than "just" a mass extinction. More like end of the solar system.

You are welcome. Also, the then ruling animals most likely would still count as sentient, just not as sapient.
