I must confess that I'm a bit confused as to the overall focus of this strip. Why is Bombshell doing this, and for what purpose? It's never stated or shown that he is working under the order of Megatron or any other Decepticon official, so why would he be doing this in the first place? What is the context of these events that are transpiring? I don't believe I recall any piece of material thus far that states that the Decepticons had added to their ranks by mass re-programming of protoforms, or at least not in the time before war broke out. Who is this Autobot he'd attacked? He bears a vague resemblance to Wheeljack, and why does he at first seem so calm with Bombshell walking in at first? Shouldn't he be holding him up at gunpoint for so blatantly entering a secured area? There's just a lot I'm not quite getting.

Well, it's neat. I like the artstyle and coloring, very retro. However, like others have said...it's just kinda there narrative wise. There's a build up but...no climax. Not a short, self contained one page comic just one page of a longer comic.

...Is there supposed to be a point to this story?

Bombshell is poisoning the minds of the protforms to rebel against the Autobots and join the Decepticon cause. This also shows how Bombshell enjoys toying with minds.

I know what's going ON. But I don't really see a climax/point to this piece. It's just a happening. There's no emotional core or impact.

I think that the point they're trying to portray is how twisted Bombshell really is, since he's screwing around with the Transformer-equivalent of a still-developing infant. 'Cause, there's nothing more sick and evil than someone that would willingly tamper with an infant's mental development.

Except that's not really expressed in the narrative. You're projecting your own speculation there.

I thought that the narrative's message was pretty clear from what I saw...

Yes, it is just a happening. A moment. There is no climax or build-up or overall scheme to it. It's simply an observation.

Happy now?

No, not really.

Why do you need this to be part of a bigger story? Why can't it just be a pointless moment? Isn't it fine existing as just that?

JZLobo In reply to TheDemonSurfer [2011-07-25 04:59:15 +0000 UTC]

It doesn't have to be part of a bigger story. But most Mosaics many to have a point, a climax, despite the single-page limitation. This one doesn't, and since it lacks a clear message, the happening it depicts falls flat.

I agree, its just basic story telling structure. Build up and Climax, even in a one page comic. There is build up, but no climax no pay off. It's just there. No bigger picture needed, just close the narrative. As it stands this feels like just half a story.

Probably it's tied to Bombshell's comment in 'Enter the Nightbird' "I love warping minds for you Megatron, love it... love it..." thus we get to see him warping minds^^

Possibly. This piece just doesn't really have a climax.

nice but who do those protoforms become?

BlueIke In reply to chuckiebobphil [2011-07-25 02:24:40 +0000 UTC]

If I had to guess, they're probably just meant to be "generic" future Decepticons, showcasing how the future Decepticons received not only their "education" but probably their creation. That's my two cents anyway.
