Alt art of one of my favorite TV shows of all time: Mystery Science Theater 3000. This was a lot of fun to do, especially redesigning the bots.This is also another case of me returning to an idea I had about a year ago. This time, I actually got a fair bit along on the original before dropping it. It was drawn, scanned in, and had at least partial flats done. I might have to post the original some time and compare the two versions to see how far I've come in the past year.

As the years went on, Mike Nelson grew old and weary, but Dr. F and TV's Frank were relentless. Dr. F had invented many failures and flops, but his ability to keep him and Frank looking incredibly young looking was a tremendous success. It only cost the bad doctor his eyes and Frank needed a lobotomy every now and then, thus the handy opening scar.
Mike, as said before, was at his wits end, mostly due to the doctors unrelentingly bugging him and sending more movies. Despite this, Mike managed to do maintenance on his robot friends. Crow was upgraded to look much more masculine and dangerous, a very very cool look (but we all know Crow really cannot pull that off with his attitude 
Joel Robitson, who spent so many years on the SOL before Mike was finally brought up, died eventually, but Mike was not about to allow his only friend after all these years go away forever. Using technology about brains and containers, because we all know the crew has watched many videos on those, Joel's brain is now preserved in Tom Servo.
So Joel is not totally dead, his brain lives on Servo! The corpse is there because, well, Mike asked the bots to do it because of a very human phobia to dead people, but you know how lazy those two are. Gypsy, no arms too.
As the years go by, Mike is still tormented by the Mads, but they have not won. In fact, despite his age and anger and frustration, Mike feels a little bad for them, because after almost an entire century, the Mads have yet to find one movie that could drive him, Joel, or the robots totally insane. It's a project that has failed and they won't admit it, and though Mike hates their guts, it really is a tremendous irony that not even decades of bad movies is enough to crack him and thus resulting in this century-long experiment total, and utter, FAILURE!

Hehe, I just thought of that upon seeing this. What a badass and awesome drawing! Despite the dark look, I love it, I love the detail, I love the "What if?" feel, and I love how the Mads look. Your artwork is incredible, how the SOL looks pieced together barely right down to tape around the wires. You sir, have done something awesome! Well done!

Okay, ignoring the bots, because I could see them looking like that if the show had been cgi instead of puppet... The desicated corpse of Joel just makes this picture look creepy!

The show is so funny that it's often easy to forget just how dark the basic premise is. This picture reflects that very well, and it looks great to boot. Excellent job!

the only thing that keep the actual Experiment from filling that threating is just because Dr. Forrester and TV Frank was so silly. But yeah, brilliant show going up. One of a kind

Thanks. Crow was probably the hardest to redesign, but as a result, he was the most satisfying once the design finally came together.

Actually, I've never played Fallout before, though now that I look it up, I can certainly see the similarities. My main inspiration for Tom was the character 'the Brain' from the comic "Doom Patrol" with a few small hints of Dalek thrown in as well.
