Selkies were once rumored to be nothing but myths and rumors. Though with a recent discovery they have showed themselves to the world. Selkies appear to be that of human, so its hard to tell them apart from others. Though a key factor in spotting a selkie amongst the crowd is their coats. All selkies have a coat, that looks to be made of seals pelt. This is the key factor on how a Selkie changes form. Selkies can submerge themselves in water and quickly change into their seal counter part. In this form, they cannot speak human tongue, but can speak to other seals and fellow selkies in seal form.

Some have wondered how did a Selkie get its coat? Where did it come form? Well you see, when a Selkie gives birth, they must do it in seal form and raise the pup. The pups will watch their parent change, and some of the pups can make the change within a few months, others can take a year if not longer. Some will never change at all. Once the pup turns into it human form, its there the coat is wrapped around the babe. A gift for the exchange of forms.

As for their way of life, most Selkies live on small isles and refuse to let mankind see them. They fear if the to many knew of them, that they would be hunted down for their coats. Selkies live like humans in small villages on this isle, each one a bit different from the rest. Selkies are very leary on the ways of men. They much prefer the company of Animen, feeling a bit more of a connection with them. Selkies tend to tell no one of their secrets, as one can never know what could taint the heart of men.

The Selkies you see know, have come from a small isle not far from Khalla. They live upon the lost isles, a land shrouded in mist. They ventured there to find peace in hopes to live their life out in solitude, away from prying eyes that wish to do them harm. On the lost isles, they had a village like life style. With a leader and council men to help run the Selkie tribe. Life has been peaceful for the Selkies of course.

As for where Selkies originated from, well there is a rumor. Though you know rumors, who could ever tell the truth of them.
