The largest animal that have ever existed, the blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is over 98 feet (29.9 meters) in length and weighing a maximum 190 short tons and probably reaching over 200 short tons. Even it's heart is the size of a Volkswagen beatle. As a baleen whale (or mysticetis), the blue whale is a filter-feeder that needs to consume up to more than 4 tons of krill a day during the summer feeding months.Related content
