Description Dakotadon lakotaensis
Named by Gregory S. Paul, 2008
Diet: Herbivore (Low to middle browser)
Type: Ornithopod (Styracosterna) dinosaur
Size: 20 feet (6 meters) long and 1.1 tons
Region: North America (South Dakota USA)
Age: Early Cretaceous (129 to 125 million BC; Barremian)
Episode: Giant of the Skies (as North American Iguanodon)
Info: This plant-eating dinosaur from what is today the Lakota Formation (hence its specific name) in South Dakota during the Early Cretaceous period was first described in 1989 by David B. Weishampel and Phillip R. Bjork under the name Iguanodon lakotaensis. But since this was a lot different and was considered to be more basal than I. bernissartensis, Gregory S. Paul gave it its own genus in 2008.

Note: Head based on Gregory S. Paul, while body based on   's Iguanodon.

I'm also gonna change "North American Polacanthus" into Hoplitosaurus and I'm also gonna update Iguanodon and Polacanthus.

One of the biggest disappointments about the Iguanodons in WWD is how the thumb spikes were never spoken of, verified or used in the series. All they did was run away, not once they defend themselves with their thumb spikes

Well done , but the legs of Iguanodontia were a bit longer . In Germany there is a museum where i saw an Iguanodon skeleton with longer hind limbs .

Nice!

Also, Giant of the Skies really looked like it was made by a high wastrel.

Haha. I can't get over one of the biggest mistakes in that series. Episode 4, Iguanodon is shown in both North America (Dakotadon) and Europe (Iguanodon) , where the larger European species is preyed on by Utahraptors... “In Europe”. What the heck was up with that? Utahraptor in Europe?

I heard a raptor tooth that was discovered that is from an animal that was at least 20 feet long.

Good job. Perosnaly, I would've changed the North American Polacanthus to Gastonia, but still can't wait for your art.

I actually love that movie, the dinosaurs are great, even though they are half-accurate.

Yeah. It's a shame that barely anyone will take about it.
