Description
I wanted to kill two birds with one stone. Not only does this show and explain the process behind The Hutch but I also shared many very useful tips I've picked up through my experience (mostly discovered on my own). Yes, it's long, but so is a lifetime. In this tutorial, I talk about:
There's also a short FAQ section!
Not only that, but it shows dozens of progress photos for The Hutch ! In essence, this tutorial has been undergoing plans for some months now. Now I just hope people will like it.
I would like to take this moment to remind you that the purpose of a tutorial is to be spread between people, so please do so if you found it useful and/or interesting
For those interested in learning more I am writing a book about portraiture such as this tutorial. To give me ideas and such, please see this poll and comment as you please: [link]

I explained the use of stick erasers, and certainly don't deny they are very useful ;D
And yeah the best piece of advice is to really do what works for you. It's a pity I forgot to explain viewing angles in this tutorial D:

Even though I have years of doing portraits, and enjoying what I've learned over the years, this tutorial was refreshing to see! It was concise, and informative. You are good at what you do, and there are no disputes there.
What this tutorial does for me, is to have me wanting to get out my paint brushes, and do another portrait of some sort. I am so stretched out now, that I am not sure when I will do that, but I do think I will create a pencil portrait, and see how that goes.
Well done!

Thanks...I've started a couple of paintings so far... working on various ideas. I feel like staying up 24/7 just to mess around. Guess I'll get my commissioned work done first.

if you can write on paper you can draw after all, writing is just drawing, with style.

aw thanks.
and try not to do too much too fast. if you expect too much of yourself, you'll crash and burn. take one step and a time. start with simple things like drawing circles and squares. then move onto cubes and spheres etc. once you're confident with those kinds of things, then move onto slightly more complicated things, like cups, or pencils, or something not too distracting, but simplified. and then once you are confident with that [after lots of them in a sketch book] move onto more complicated things like hands, feet, faces. etc etc etc.
dont push yourself and dont expect to be able to draw people or animals or trees etc right away. alrighty? if you need any help, if you get stuck, just talk to myself or `treijim
