Hmm, okay so this is obviously a call-back to Charas plan to "help" Frisk with her and Sans relationship (or that's what he claimed his plan to be at that time) mentioned on page 30.
I've looked that up for a bit, but so far all I got was Japanese eel farming? I don't quite get what that has to do with relationships, or if that's what Chara meant at all, but I guess I'll wait and see. I bet in the end it'll be incredibly simple and I'll feel like an idiot for not getting it earlier.

Chara gave Frisk an eel at 30'd page and then started to talk all about eels, and when she was about to say how people transfered eels from country to country, keeping them fresh and lively, Frisk fell asleep...
This eel basicly is symbol of their trust, I believe..
