OH, if you didn't already know though, there is a movie version of Gurren Lagann. It's essentially the anime condensed into two long parts, so it's nothing you haven't seen for the MOST part, but there are some added and modified scenes, including a particularly different final battle with the Anti-Spirals. You should check it out if you have the time or want to re-watch it.

I always promote watching that anime haha, but I'm biased. It's arguably my favorite anime, since it gave me alot of confidence and Black-Star-type-attitude during some particularly tough times back in highschool.... But yeah, it's a good show for sure. There's another version of it that condenses all of the anime into a two-part movie with some added/modified scenes... Might be slightly hard to follow in some parts if you haven't seen the anime, maybe??? But if you just want to go ahead and know the story without watching all the episodes, that's a good alternative I'd say.

Sometimes when I'm looking at something I'm working on for a long while, the color vibrancy tends to look a little more dulled out to me. I was hoping that was just because I was sitting infront of the laptop for too long. It's good to know the colorfulness of it was still there afterall.

I can relate! I cook my eyes every day for hours in a computer at work and when I get home I don't even want to see a keyboard anymore.

I wanted both to have a similar palette, or at least that characters could pop. But you can tell what day I was actually more focused on this particular detail by the colors alone. In fact, the second one was a bit darker, I passed it through some PS filters to give it more life!

It's so nice to have someone who understands that. Even the likes of Umojar/BP sometimes get that wrong- you can draw amazing looking feet and come up with all sorts of situations, but if the expressions are off then the whole thing falls a little flat.Β

This is definitely true. I think I mentioned this to another person a while ago in my gallery, but as an artist, sometimes it can be easy to get so focused on rendering the art out and getting good details and precise anatomy, that the emotion and energy of the piece gets neglected or overshadowed. Finding a good balance between all those things is definitely important. It's something I try to keep in mind for sure.
