Tommy Richardsen // Trichardsen // Facebook // 500px // Google+ // InstagramThat figure on the right side is my brother furiously searching the beach for his lenscap
Luckily we did find it and he also managed to get a couple of shot of this amazingly strong aurora flare which lasted no more than 10 minutes from start to finish.
Captured in Steinsvik, Nordreisa, Troms, Northern Norway.
08.02.2014 - Nikon D800, Zeiss 15mm f2.8, Iso 1600, 3 seconds.
4 Vertical shots stiched into a panorama.

Cheers
Yeah, cold is something that comes with the territory, but it is easily worth enduring some of it to see the aurora

Some times up here we can get auroras every night for weeks, not always as powerful every night, but you can certainly see it.

It certainly can be.
The feeling of seeing the auroa can go from exitement to pure awe, where in the most extreme cases it is so beautiful you just keep turning wanting to watch the whole sky at once, just filling everything with colors and everchanging curtains of light.
When it comes to the mood it is always positive seeing the aurora in my experience and everyone else I know who have seen it.
