Probably the busiest and shiniest ref I've ever made.
I've wanted to have a chara named Zacharias for a while but I couldn't come up with the design until now. Freakin' love this idiot already
Oh, and SAI decided to overwrite the nearly finished WIP but this time I HAD THE BACKUP TAKE THAT YOU STUPID TECHNOLOGY!!!

Note: If you dare to call him "chickenlegs" then I'll kill you because I need to use that one somewhere in the distant future myself. Ah screw that, let's sing it in chorus XD

Name: Zacharias Kadoni
Nickname(s): Zach, Zachie
Height: Normal mode is 173cm (5'8'') and digigrade varies between 176cm - 190cm (5'9'' - 6'3'') it depends on how stretched out the joints are and how straight he stands.
Weight: Mechanical parts make him heavier than he is so around 73 kilos (161lbs)
Species: He's actually part of Homo visolo sapiens species. Otherwise refer to him as bionic cyborg.
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
SO: Straight, I think.
DoB: 2nd of April 1993
Hand preference: Due to modifications it constantly changes. No kidding.
Body type: Quite skinny and seems to be fragile. Just don't underestimate his strenght.

Bio

Zach was abandoned by his parents when he was around 4 years old for unknown reasons. One lovely family adopted him and raised like their own son but when Zach hit his teens strange things started to happen - his wings started to develope by randomly taking incoherent shapes. It's normal for his species that teenagers experience wing developement that way but Zach didn't know that. The family realized that he was no ordinary human and became afraid of him. Zach was confused and afraid himself. He felt like he was no longer wanted and loved, his family couldn't help him and before his 14th birthday he ran away from home. Fortunately kid was smart so he found the right connections to find out about the "underground" lab networks and with help stole valuable classified data. He used the stolen data to bribe himself into leading lab under Tarapita's command and requested the scientist to find out what the heck he is and how his wings work. After couple years he had it under control but then new plans crossed his superiors' minds. Project "Zach" was launched rather quick and Zach himself was somewhat brainwashed into this, he had no other options anyway. Step by step his body parts were replaced with artificial ones and the project is still ongoing.
The first surgeries were just an introduction to the nightmare that followed. They also had to force Zach's body to grow faster in order to carry out the modifications. First surgery was about exchanging his eyes and creating new specific highly advanced sockets for mechanical eyes (so he could change them with ease when needed) and the doctors also used the opportunity to examin his "Battery" and changed the skin on his neck. The second major surgery was the most dangerous one (replacing the whole skeleton) that nearly cost Zach his life. The doctors managed to keep him alive and he was in coma for 4 months and 1 week while his body was recovering. After awakening he started to have migranes and hallucinations. Turned out that the scientists had planted couple microchips into his brain already but since the aim of this operation was somewhere else they hadn't done it perfectly. Shortly new surgery followed during which they removed the nerves system around his brain (yeah headaches come from the nerve grid around the brain, not from brain itself lol please correct me if I'm wrong here) and toggled the chips, also adding couple more. 4th surgery was about amputating his limbs and replacing them with mechanical ones and replacing the "Battery" with power core. Time after that operation was hell for Zach as well because he had to get used to his new limbs plus wings started to act strange again. When he was exercising the scientists noticed that his muscles can't support the new parts properly. The 5th bigger surgery was about implanting the hotspot sealers, changing his upper-and lower body muscles to artificial ones and creating the tail socket. Zach was in coma for 2 months and 3 weeks after that.
The modifications were done in a rather short period of time (considering what those monsters did to that poor kid), thus he still seems slightly underweight, weak and fragile. 3 years have passed since the last operation and during that time Zach has had time to train and exercise without bigger setbacks.

Personality

At first Zach seems to be one little pain in the neck thanks to his attitude. He isn't very happy with what his superiors have done to him and all the pain they've caused for their own blind ambitions. Therefore he wears a mask around scientists and his bosses, looking unfriendly and repelling. The real Zach is curious and rather easy-going nice fella. Only few lesser workers of the labs have had the chance to see the good side of him. He might not show his friendliness to everyone, at first he learns about the person a little before deciding how to treat them. But if you buy him a pizza then you sure are in favour.
Even if he shows hatred towards bosses he's actually started to enjoy his new body after the pain is gone and new parts function properly. He knows his strenghts and weaknesses, acts rather reasonably and sometimes tests his limits. He prefers to act alone since doesn't fully trust anyone thanks to his past. Plus he can always find fast solutions to problems himself (even without the servers) so kid is still smart and clever. He will stand up for himself even when has decided to be submissive to his superiors. He just won't go down without a fight.
He doesn't like to be constantly used as a lab rat for testing new gadgets (since they don't often work properly either) but he has no other choice. Expect sarcastic and sassy comments on almost everything.
What he does like is when he wins an argument with someone (he doesn't boast about it, just the eternal satisfaction), especially with some scientist or with Tarapita. He also loves to play poker with other lab workers and usually bets on money (yes he gets paid for the experiments just to cover up some murky spots in the system but he can't use it otherwise anyway), junk food or just silly deeds (he only suggests silly deed when he's 100% sure in victory). There might be situations when he wins money and asks the loser to get him something for it, allowing them to keep the remaining sum. During free time he watches news, series or movies. Sometimes might even play video games when he's bored.
Since he has never felt being dear to someone or due to his past and current situation he can trust nobody. He's ready to come out of his shell but only when he's convinced that the other person is worth it. Even when he's built into a deadly weapon he doesn't have the need to kill nor hurt someone without a reason (maybe only set the arses of his bosses on fire though).

If he has to fight then he starts with physical combat, leaving stronger and more advanced attacks last. If he hasn't gained victory so far or feels threathened then releases wings and uses them as shields and weapons between continuing with physical assault/defence. Final options are installed gadgets (these get changed as they advance) in his forearms. In order to release them 2 sets of shock absorbers on arm armour have to be dropped, artificial skin gets pulled out of the way and gatgets start to load fast. Kid never misses, I give you that.

Zach is still hanging around in the labs because he's unaware of his opportunities of getting the heck out of there with legal help. He's just another classified project among others that authorities have no idea of. Besides Tarapita keeps carefully brainwashing him so that he wouldn't come up with a plan to gain freedom.

Abilities

* Rather durable, agile and strong. His appearance might make him look like fragile teenager but he's actually way stronger. And little older.
* He's also more durable thanks to the power core, his heart only has to partially support his organic parts.
* Mechanical legs have two modes: Normal (look like regular human feet... well, almost) and digigrade/extracted mode (chickenlegs weee!). He can change modes fast and only has to manually roll over the grey artificial skin over heels when shifting from digigrade to normal.
* His digigrade feet are as advanced as hands, meaning he can operate them with success. He can jump high, run fast and grab items with those.
* Can make energy wings appear and dissapear at will. His wings are bigger, "thicker" and brighter than normally thanks to the new power core. Plus he can hold them out as long as he needs to and can fly longer distances.
* Plus wings can appear through clothes (without damaging them). Only the "sparks" need to levitate freely.
* Wings can also be used as shields. His should be a lot more durable than usually.
* He can adapt to various gadgets thanks to the modifications and microchips, new parts can be added to him and tested with less hussle than previously.
* His brain is connected to 2 personal servers of his through wireless connection. He uses them to find temporary data or download foreign languages. Or movies. Or porn. .___. You'll never know
* In addition he can connect to any electronic device if it has Bluetooth or WiFi connection. He has passwords hacked before you finish sneezing.
* Since Glitchers use their own wireless data exchange frequency then Zach can hack into them as well and usually makes couple of them serve him.
* Can scan and analyze the surroundings. Functions are rather limited but provide the basic information.
* Artificial skin on neck, above knees and hands are as sensitive as regular skin. He can decide what functions to turn on and off (for example he can turn off function that registrers pain but the rest remain).
* Has snatched one Glitcher's tail protoype to himself and can install it for combats. The energy blades on top of it kinda act like sharp swords or concentrated lasers. Yikes.
* Can eat ridiculous amount of food without gaining weight from it. Just his species' thang. He doesn't need to eat much thanks to the power core.
* Can "drop" armor around his arms to manage daily activities casually. He can also cover up wired parts with same grey artificial skin. His artificial parts are waterproof, kid still needs to shower you know.

Disadvantages

* Is a tad clumsy walker when has feet in normal mode. He's way used to the digigrade one plus normal mode is just an alternative anyway.
* Can control his wings only by mechanical hotspot sealers. If the sealers fail he'll have bloody hard time containing them.
* Has to remove the sealers manually in order to open them and form wings. Putting the sealers back into sockets is also manual.
* Usually is little sore in the mornings. Has to stretch and execise a bit before he's ready to roll.
* Can't fix his mechanical parts himself. He can prepare some damage but when a leg or something gets ripped off then he's pretty much done.
* He still can bleed and recieve lethal damage to abdomen while still feeling pain. In addition he needs oxygen like every other human.
* Needs to eat regular food to cover his organic body's and brain's daily doses of microelements, vitamins, sugars, proteins etc.
* Can still experience hallucinations. Fortunately they happen seldom but the chances are higher when he's going through a breakdown, is on medications or experiencing strong negative emotions.
* Even when he's connected to the servers he can only download info and preserve it temporarily. Uploading data is still in beta testing.
* The server's wireless range only covers the lab's main facilities. He can't have access to them from longer distances.
* Can't walk without making absolutely any sound. Even if the grip fixers muffle the metal clinking against the floor the claws cover it and in normal mode he makes hella noise when going on "bare" feet.
* Can't "drop" armor from his legs because it's conected to the mode shifting mechanism.
* He also can't change his limbs. New legs and knee sockets are in designing but till then he has to go through an operation if a limb happens to recieve serious damage or gets ripped off.
* I guess this kid won't pass the security check in airports...
* Nor he can go to the beach and hang out with other people. Project "Zach" is illegal and he's kept in the lab's facilities and territory unless in case of an emergency.

Trivia or some summary for lazy people

*Has been in artificial coma about 5 times due to major surgeries.
*He used to be short sighted and therefore his eyes were replaced first. (Btw the species can rarely have natural dark scleras but Zach's were originally white). His original eye colour was something like this green and can be used as alternative eyes.
*98% of his skeleton (including skull) is replaced with metal one, mostly to support the burden caused by mechanical parts.
*Upper body and leg muscles are artificial for the same reason as above.
*His blood contains nanorobot prototypes and only he can control them due to crapload of microchips implanted into his brain.
*Can remove armor from arms but not from legs. Leg armor is connected to the shifting mechanism.
*Loves junk food but lab facilities often don't provide it.
*Like any member of his species he can consume food in ridiculous amounts and doesn't gain weight from that. His energy storage and source for the wings (simply called "Battery") is replaced with power core and therefore he only needs to eat to cover the daily minerals, vitamins, proteins etc that his organic body parts need, not for energy.
*Due to power core his wings started to act strange again and the solution was to seal away the "sparks" or "hotspots" aka specific energy units that trigger the appearance of wings. When the sealings are removed from the sockets on his back then they roll open and reveal the sparks so Zach could form the wings.
*His belt was custom made of the armor leftovers. Zach loves it.
*The Glitcher's tail prototype was field tested with Zach. They had to change the programming to sync it with him but kid found it awesome and he decided to keep it for fun.
*After modifications his air vents stopped functioning.
