IZM 2011 is just all messed up.
My latest contribution is kind of revisiting an old idea I'd had back in the first IZM; the idea of a zombie priest. My original idea was something of a bastardized voodoo stereotype; a zombie-man able to raise the dead to do his bidding. This version takes the idea a step or two further. This zombie is a priest of zombieism as a religion. Altered to the point where his resemblance to humanity is only cursory, the priest represents an undead ideal. His face is stripped of all features but a mouth, his body pierced with spears to show his lack of need for flesh, mutilated, carved and adorned with holy relics of tainted blood samples and newspaper clippings to show his involvement in all things that spell the end of man. His holy vestments are stained with the blood and gore of devoured martyrs. The crown set upon his head is meant to represent the grasping talons of the newly dead, straining to escape the base earth and spread their divine infection to all unclean life. The holy symbol of his office, the Triskelimaw, represents the unending hunger of his undead brethren and how the only virtue worth conquering death for is that of usefulness; no flesh may go to waste, for to the undead there is no greater sin.
