But lets brush our manes first, this bedmane drives me nuts...I dunno about you, but I had enough of tears. I only want to draw jokes and loves in the next couple of months. :3
Also, am I the only one who actually hates drawing hoofs more than drawing fingers? I spent at least half the time making this on adjusting their hoofs... and I still couldn't get it right. -.-

Oh man, this really puts my own comic to shame. I had put off reading this while making my own (similarly themed, but quite different) so that I wouldn't mimic it unconsciously, but wow. Granted, you have been working on it quite a lot longer. I am impressed.

Amnesia is one of the best tools to start a story, isn't it?
I've began to form the story after the end of season 2, though only started to make clumsy attempts for comicmaking in last July. It's still rather clumsy though, I have lots to learn.
Your comic is great too, though I haven't read it through the whole thing yet (gotta sleep, it's very late right now), it somehow feels like an adventure game.

It really is. Although I think it may be a little bit too common since writing is hard and people want to get going and create already. So much more interesting to have characters already somewhat developed mentally and then have the characters will be ready to tell the story without too much extra thought. It just unfolds. (aka not what I did at all)
Adventures are all about doing stuff, so mine probably feels that way since I tend to jump from location to location rather quickly. I have made that a bad habit since I seem to want to draw each scenes from every angle for some masochistic reason (I have it in my head forcing different angles will make me actually understand anatomy or something. So weird.), so then every time I want to continue the plot I create a lot of extra work for myself.
I had actually planned to do quite a bit more pieces of story in the beginning to really set up the character, but somehow fell pretty much right into the main plot line. The reason I am doing my comic is more about just going and making something so I can feel confident about my ability to create content consistently, but I feel yours seems to be more about really getting quality storytelling and telling the tale in your brain.
I also noticed that we never actually got a look at the notebook that was mentioned. The one with Lyra's name on it.

Of course that notebook will have a significant role, even if it doesn't give direct answers. We'll see it later that day (of chapter 3), we need to meet the gang and save BonBon's business before that. :3

Just making sure it wasn't forgotten. I suppose time is passing very slowly in comic time and so their focus has just been elsewhere. I am looking forward to this. I wonder if Lyra was actually a musician before this body transference or if her new pony body just gives her that capability? The canon answer (from the cutie pox) seems to imply cutie marks themselves have the power.

After a few more chapters you'll get a better view on how deep the storyline goes.
As far as I can see, cutie marks are more like indicators about the special talent, which of course strongly correlates with the cutie mark, but not dependent on it: foals still have their special talent, but only get the cutie mark after they get aware of their special talent.

I suppose this is why I often put off reading comics until they are done. The waiting is gruesome. But oh so worth it.
The reason I said the canon answer seemed that was because in The Cutie Pox Apple Bloom suddenly is good at everything she gets a cutie mark for. Then again that was the effect of magicks... I suppose there will always be more questions than answers until we hit season 20. (There better be this much high quality pony. Hasbro make it so!)

The opposite could be true too, she's getting the special talents, and the cutie marks for them one after another. (Then the urge to do accordingly to her talent.)

This is adorable, the hoofs seem alittle awkward though, I too hate drawing hoofs lol. Don't get me wrong, I hate drawing fingers even more, but hoofs are hard to draw as well, especially when you are trying to make them hold hands :3 . Whatever, nothing can take away from the fact that this is so damn cute. I like it, keep it up!!!!!

In response to your description, I agree. Though the touchy scenes are still amazing and add to the story, I kinda want a break from it too. Also, I've noticed that you have strayed far from just recoloring MLP: FiM scenes and adding different features (mane styles, cutie marks, etc) and are beginning to use your own vectors! You are really getting quite good at this! (either that, or you are getting so good at recoloring, that you fooled me)

Well, I made my own vectors for the previous ones too, it's just that I didn't have much reference from the show to work with on this page so I had to improvise a lot. Which takes at least 3 times more than just tracing over a screenshot...
I plan to customize them little by little indeed, and setting up restrictions for the manes, e.g. the pink half is always on the right side on BonBon's mane, and the top white mop of hair is always on the left side on Lyra's mane. In the show, they simply mirror Lyra's head, so the white part is always there, but it's not on both sides when you look at her from the front.
I still have a lot to learn though.
