Ironically, I never played any of the games either!
I just watch some walkthroughs or cutscenes.
I notice a couple of things that are kinda the same:
* Lyra's "Arms" and "Hands"
* Secret organization that make your skin crawl and would whether trust the Joker from the Dark Knight then these guys.
* Some important item that Lyra is looking for that determined the fate of the world.
