Description
This is a contest entry for 's Contest slickedbackartisan.deviantart.…When Genesect Mega Evolves, it awakanes hidden programming left by Team Plasma's scientists, deemed to powerful to be used, so it was locked down by many Antiviruses and Fire walls. But with the aid of the Genesectite, which is a cassete filled with powerful viruses ment to unleash this hidden potential, Genesect achieves power and speed beyond belief. Its' cannon grows larger, and its arms now posses two mini- cannons, and when flying, Genesect will use the two cannons to propel itself in the air. The large cannon acts as a shield and as a powerful weapon.

What I loved here is that other then just being cool, you made it look more like the pokemon it once was, since mega evolutions are biological.

it could happen, just make techno blast a steel type move instead of a normal type one so that he can hold the stone instead of the drive. Or you could tak Genesect to a guy ho will change techno blast to whatever type you want.

cool idea for this, their could be two held items, one for each arm canon that you would switch between drives one for techno blast and one for a second signature move

I always had the idea of any Pokemon holding two items at once stuck in my head, but it also makes me keep wondering how they could possibly work that idea into a Pokemon game. Also, since Generation I, they have not expanded the moveset amount at all. 4 moves per Pokemon will never be enough; they should at least expand it to 6. T_T

okay firstly i absolutely love this idea to bits!!
second i thought of 1/2 signiture moves for the mega evolution which replaces techno blast
when mega evolved and a cool ability (i hope) ...
please tell me if there is something wrong with it.

When this move hits an opponent your speed goes up 1 stage and you opponents changed stats return to normal!
move 2) analasis blasts

this move hits 3 times
after the first 2 hits the 3rd one does +10 power and changes type to your opponents biggest weakness
ability:
flexible: switches attack ad defence stats during your opponents turn

Thank you very much! And the moves and the signature moves and ability sound awesome! But they really are overpowered. Genesect could destroy pretty much any kind of team pretty easily.

well its just an idea for a custom ablity i call Twin Drive which acording to which drive it is holding cetain stats and effects are gained

But a pokemon that Mega Evolves can only carry a Mega Stone, or in this case, the Genesectite drive. This ability could work, but only if it was a Hidden Ability. It would actually make some of Genesect's drives actually usable, beyond the coverege they give Genesect, at the cost of a much better item, like Choice Scarf or Life Orb.

In order to Mega Evolve, a pokemon must hold its respective Mega Stone, so yeah. It can't be any item, only a one of a kind item.

what about an ablity that lets you use a normaly held item(without said item being no more after battle) as if it were a battle item like x accuracy

This ability is only kinda works outside of Link Battles. When I think of an ability for a Mega Evolution, it is either complementing its stats (Like Mega Garchomp's Sand Force ability), drastically change its role (Like Mega Aggron's Filter ability) or making its normal counters irrelevent(Like Mega Gyarados's Mold Breaker). So when I think of a good ability for Mega Genesect, it should either compliment its great offenses, compliment its great defensive typing or making sure that it can't be outsped. So Download, Flash Fire or Speed Boost are good abilities, eliminating Genesect's only problems either not being powerful enough, being taken down by fire attacks or being outsped.

Again, if you want to make a new ability specificaly for a Mega Evolution, it should compliment a certain strategy to use the pokemon. Stat wise, my Mega Genesect is very fast and has a very high Sp. Attack, while possesing the same great movepool as a normal Genesect, so an ability to compliment it should either make sure that it can't get, lets say, paralyzed, or better yet, make sure that no Special wall, like Blissey, will stop it.

I don't want to soun mean or any thing, I really don'y want to be rude, really, but I don't think that you understand that a pokemon in official battles hosted by Nintendo or even normal Link Battle can't hold more than 2 items, and during battle, you can't use any item from your bag. Basically, you want to give Mega Genesect a useless ability. And again, I'm no trying to hurt you are mock you or anything, I just want to make a point. If I have offended you in any way, then I am sorry, but my opinion holds firm.

I understood what you were saying, and I understand what you ment to do with this ability, and you really don't have to be sorry. However, and ability that has no competitive use is practically useless, sorry.
This ability you've suggested is nice, as it gives Genesect's drive a certain niche in game (which they already have), but in my point of view, an ability that fails to work competitively is a pretty bad ability, for example Run Away.
I am not trying to bring you down or being mean, but in order for you to become better at creating abilities, you must recieve constructive criticism.
